Fantastic craft centre we visited while staying in Colwall, which was only 20 minutes away. Good Butchers, Bakers, Antique shops, gifts for all ages. Coffee shop with homemade cakes. Would recommend a visit.

Stopped off here for a spot of shopping and lunch. What an interesting place. So many different bespoke shops which would cater for nearly everyone. Toys, furniture, clothing, furniture, antiques, butchers, flowers and a gift shop that you would couldn't fail to find something suitable in. We ended up spending most of the day here which was unexpected but it... More

We brought 4 friends here for lunch on Saturday one of whom was disabled. The table was pre booked and the staff were aware of our friends disability. Oh dear what a disappointment! The table was laid ready but we then chose our meals which took forever. At 12.30 on a Saturday they had run out of jacket potatoes/lasagne and after... More

I drive a minibus for a charity providing holidays for the elderly. I visit the hop pocket most weeks, and find there is something for everyone. Womens fashions, hotter shoes, art gallery, craft work, and do visit paddy in the wine shop where he will be happy to give you a free tasting. There is a lovely cafe, all the... More

My Mum, Sister and I visited The Hop Pocket yesterday for a morning out. Very festive with lots of unusual gifts for Christmas. We went to the restaurant for lunch. Yum!! Ample portions with home cooked food. My homemade lasagne was delicious, and the mushroom and bacon quiche also very nice. My Mum had the coriander and parsnip soup which... More

I have taken my mother here twice now and have spent quite a few hours looking around, I like all the different things on sale, my mother enjoys sending cards to friends and there is not short supply to choose from here! They sell Lyme Bay wines, now they are worth travelling for on their own :-)

Looking at the hop pocket leaflet in our holiday cottage I was expecting a good shopping experience. Unfortunately this was not so. Garden centre, plants very expensive, inside some nice crafts, including handmade items. The garden centre cafe was way over priced, though the cakes we had were tasty. The other areas of the Hop pocket was a big let... More

~ Brief review: Offensive meal, partially useless staff, awful value, bland environment and mediocre shopping 'experience' to use the term loosely. ~ Detailed review: As it was a Sunday, we assumed that the restaurant in the Hop Pocket garden centre would be serving some reasonably good food, so we took a shot at it. We assumed wrong. The five of... More

Went for a family day out on a Sunday afternoon and was hoping for a bite to eat. Sunday lunch is only served until 2pm. And the other good options on the menu weren't available on a Sunday. So all a family of 5 had to choose from was 3 sandwich flavours and 1 flavour of soup! So we had... More
