Description:

Three miles east of Worcester surrounded by glorious countryside and deer...

Three miles east of Worcester surrounded by glorious countryside and deer park lays one of Britain’s best-kept secrets. Spetchley is a garden for all tastes containing one of the biggest private collections of plant varieties outside the major botanical gardens. Spetchley is not a formal paradise of neatly manicured lawns or beds but rather a wondrous display of plants, shrubs and trees woven into a garden of many rooms and vistas. It is certainly an ever changing garden and one undergoing many changes. The Revival Project is in its infancy; a ten year project aimed at reviving Spetchley's wonderful legacy. Please follow us to see how we get on and come and visit to view this wonderful garden and watch its transformation.

Was reluctant to re-visit this place after our first visit but family were keen to take us as a day out with our daughter and we we're pleasantly surprised! A lot has changed. The gardens are very beautiful and a lot of work is being in to improve and enhance them, some lovely things to see and enjoy and hidden... More

What a wonderful start to the New Year. Thank you very much for your glowing comments. We are undergoing huge changes and the winter has been very busy. The weather has tried to throw us off course but so far we have only suffered a few set backs. The lake is complete and looks fantastic - almost full now and... More

Part of the Historic Houses association we visited to make good use of a fine day in 2015. We visited the extensive gardens to the georgian house which is not open to the public. We were able to roam and look at differing areas of plantation, and follow up with a visit to the adjacent estate Church of All Saints.... More

Very beautiful gardens. There is a large pond, from the other side you can see the big house. Mr Darcy could get out of the water any minute here, so it seems :) No dogs allowed :( Great tea room. In spring it was full of white daffodils. Imagine bringing a good book. They recently started offering yoga classes via... More

Spetchley Park, near Worcester, although privately owned by the historic Berkeley family, is open to the public for much of the year. The mansion (not generally open to public) is Georgian, and the gardens extend to over 30 acres, with huge cedars as a feature. There is a good cafeteria, and toilets, and at various times historical multi-period re-enactments are... More

Visited Spetchley Gardens at beg October for a family birthday celebration. 12 of us plus a baby. The weather was v kind to us and we sat outside at the cafe. Simple food but well presented and staff were friendly. Shame the lake was having some work done on it and was drained. Will visit again next year.

Been re-vamped lately with a new entrance and car park. Lovely gardens to wander around. Okay for wheelchairs. The café was okay but a little expensive.

I visited Spetchley toward what many would consider was the end of the gardening year. The wonderful thing regarding these gardens is they always throw up such nice surprises. even though the main lake was drained and undergoing repair Dragonfly's were still zooming around the smaller lake, the squirrels were active and easily seen and finally some flowers were making... These stunning gardens offer so many different areas to explore, each one a delight. The perfect place for a restful day out. The tea rooms with garden tables in a beautiful setting offers a good range food.
