Description: Three miles east of Worcester surrounded by glorious countryside and deer...
Three miles east of Worcester surrounded by glorious countryside and deer park lays one of Britain’s best-kept secrets. Spetchley is a garden for all tastes containing one of the biggest private collections of plant varieties outside the major botanical gardens. Spetchley is not a formal paradise of neatly manicured lawns or beds but rather a wondrous display of plants, shrubs and trees woven into a garden of many rooms and vistas. It is certainly an ever changing garden and one undergoing many changes. The Revival Project is in its infancy; a ten year project aimed at reviving Spetchley's wonderful legacy. Please follow us to see how we get on and come and visit to view this wonderful garden and watch its transformation.

Such a wonderful private garden open to the public. This place has everything, Walled gardens within walled gardens brimming with fantastic plants - old and new. Deep herbaceous borders heaving with every kind of perennial imaginable. Amazing plant collections - Peonies, lilies, roses, summer and spring bulbs, Iris, border perennials Secret gardens - full of naturalised and self seeded gems.... More

We were at Spetchley park for the M5 re-enactment day. Re-enactors from Greeks to Nato forces. All in costume, and in encampments around the park. It's a great way to spend a day. There were battles and displays and a fashion show. There were also food stalls and a 1940s pub! The house looked beautiful, and the church was very... More

Really disappointed after our visit to Spetchley Gardens yesterday. There's 'county cottage' feel then there's neglected and in need of a really good tidy up. If it hadn't been for the event on yesterday we would have left and demanded a refund. So much potential though. We won't be recommending it to our friends.

Thank you so much for your review. I am sorry you did not enjoy your time at Spetchley but I am grateful for your feedback. August is always a frantic month for the gardens. The effects of the sun and rain combined makes its management very difficult - rather like painting the Forth Road Bridge. The garden is 30 acres... More

Heard so much about this place, were aware the lake had been drained but not prepared for the general neglect especially the south border, Adam and eve statues and lover's walk, Apollo statue, weeds everywhere, hedges and grass needing cutting, not fit for visitors, waste of money, should be ashamed of themselves for charging the public, should close until in... Gardens are set in to a number of different areas. Lovely walled gardens and lakes/ponds to wander round. Used a gardens world pass to get two for one entry. They are doing renovation on there lake soon so have a fence round to help keep the newts out. There are boxes all the way along I catch the newts humainly,... More

I've driven past this place so many times but never really been intrigued enough to visit. My girlfriend suggested we finally pay it a visit and I'm so glad we did. It cost £6.50 each to get in which is only really £1.50 more than you would usually pay for an open garden. Although there is a big stately home,... More

Lovely place to visit for a few hours. Beautiful gardens. Only complaint would the lack of choice of ice cream flavours from the cafe!

Have just been with a friend, really disappointed. Visited here a year or so ago, the garden then where very well maintained and lovely to walk around. Now they seem to be neglected although certain parts ie the vegetable gardens are obviously kept up and were full of produce as to the rest it lacks care and was very full... More

A really stunning setting. I went to practice my photography and I wasn't disappointed! There are amazing views, flower lined pathways, sky scraping trees and a huge lake. There is a nice surprise around every corner. Just when you think you've seen everything you discover a new pathway that takes you off on another journey. You will also find an... More

Thank you very much for your wonderfully positive comments about your visit. Spetchley is the ideal place for photography and painting. The myriad colours and wonderful vistas add plenty of depth and there is something new around every corner. We have quite a few photographers coming to hold lessons and we do have some painting groups who enjoy coming in... More

We visited these gardens today. Only about 20 miles away, but this was our first visit. We were amazed how beautiful they are. The views across the lake to the house were beautiful and the gardens were well kept. The scent from the roses and shrubs was gorgeous. The tea rooms are lovely too, and the prices not too bad....
