Description: Three miles east of Worcester surrounded by glorious countryside and deer...
Three miles east of Worcester surrounded by glorious countryside and deer park lays one of Britain’s best-kept secrets. Spetchley is a garden for all tastes containing one of the biggest private collections of plant varieties outside the major botanical gardens. Spetchley is not a formal paradise of neatly manicured lawns or beds but rather a wondrous display of plants, shrubs and trees woven into a garden of many rooms and vistas. It is certainly an ever changing garden and one undergoing many changes. The Revival Project is in its infancy; a ten year project aimed at reviving Spetchley's wonderful legacy. Please follow us to see how we get on and come and visit to view this wonderful garden and watch its transformation.

My wife and I visited this attraction last summer specifically for the Roses. Having seen the advertisement for the Daffodil and Narcissus flowering in April, we decided to go again this Spring. What a difference a year makes. A brand new Entrance gate off the road, a well laid-out Car Park and a new building with information to welcome you.... More

Spetchley holds an early Plant Fair which is small but perfectly formed, on the front lawn of Spetchley House every spring. It's for people who don't want the 'add ons' that are in many shows, it's just for people who love their plants and gardens. As well as the plant stalls there are short talks by stall holders, guided timed... More

We used to attend this annual event on a regular basis, until it clashed with the Harrogate Flower show, but this year we thought we would give Harrogate a miss and come to this. The Plant fair was great, some interesting plants and unusual I we picked some real nice items. The entrance fee, as always, included the Gardens. We... More

Thank you for your feedback and I am glad that you enjoyed the plant fair which we have run in conjunction with Chris Pattison for over 20 years now. The 40 specialist nurseries all enjoyed themselves and provided some very high quality, specialist plants. However I am sad you did not enjoy the garden. We had some very good feedback... More

Spetchley Gardens on a beautiful day with a wonderful Plant Fair. Absolutley stunning all round, a real paradise you need to visit often to take in all the blooms on offer. Today the beauty of Magnolia's, Spring Blossom, Azelea's, Rhododendron's , etc, were such a delight. The blooms to come over the coming weeks and months such as Iris's, an... More

Had been looking forward to visit having seen daffs on Great British garden revival on tv. Visited on easter Saturday. Not very tidy and very few plants for sale even though large area for such. Disappointing, not managed as well as Berkeley castle. Good to see most daffs labelled.

Thank you very much for your feedback. I am sorry you found Spetchley disappointing. As we say in our literature, that you should have recieved on entry to the garden, this is a big year for Spetchley with all the changes that will be happening and the gardens are really a work in progress. There has been a great deal... More

The owners have had a National Lottery grant to restore the gardens and they are doing a great job. We have not visited for some years, so wee impressed by the new entrance and the wide variety of daffodils and narcissi in flower. Old gardens have been opened up and there are statues and fountains galore. You can also walk... More

Saturday, 11th April. Opening weekend, our first ever visit and a warm, friendly welcome from the garden and tearoom staff alike. My wife and I headed straight for the tearoom. Lemon drizzle went down well with tea and coffee. Shared a laugh with the tea room staff before setting off for our trip around the grounds. Lots of features to... More

We selected Spetchley from the Great British Gardens Site. It was within reasonable driving distance and the search suggested that we would see a good Spring show of daffodils. Due to traffic we arrived around 3pm but struggled to park at first because the grass overspill area was very boggy. Indeed when we returned to our car, we found that... More

A lovely Sunday afternoon with a leisurely walk around the gardens. Beautiful swathes of daffodils, and the promise of warmer weather around the corner with magnolia and camellias getting ready to bloom. Walking through the deer park we saw 2 large herds of deer. A lovely cup of tea in chanterelles at spetchley tea room with a yummy slice of... More

We are so pleased that you enjoyed the glorious easter weather at Spetchley. It is very much a work in progress but we have had a very positive response to the Revival Project works that are currently taking place. Despite the works the gardens are still looking great with, as you saw, the Daffodils, Magnolias and camelias coming into their... More

We had a fabulous tour of Spetchley Park Gardens this morning led by one of the gardeners who told us interesting stories concerning the Berkeley family history, mixed in with knowledgeable facts about the trees and plants. Although the weather wasn't great, and the plants and flowers were barely showing through, there were lots of fascinating things to see and... More

Thank you for your comments on the chilly daffodil tour last weekend. I am glad you enjoyed it. The recent frosts have put back the growth of many plants but this has been a good thing as hopefully, with a fair wind and bit of luck, there will be no more frosts and the daffodils will be blooming in time...
