I intended filling in half an hour visiting this attraction. In the end, I spent more than 2 hour, much of the time accompanied by Gordon, one of the guides, a former professional aviator of great military jet experience. Other business dragged me away or I would still have been there at closing time. This is more than a dusty... More

Fortunately going midweek it was fairly quiet and so we were able to climb in all the cockpits and take our time looking round the exhibits. So many things to see backed up by lots of information. The volunteers were wonderful, so enthusiastic. I could have listened to their amazing stories all day long. This has to be one of... More

I had a wonderful time at the museum. In this age of health and safety it was wonderful to climb inside lots of the aircraft cockpits from the dawn of the jet age up to current supersonic fighters. You can see the cramped conditions, surrounded by instruments, and look out through the cockpit windows. You cannot do this in many... More

We were lucky enough to find this while waiting for my car to be repaired. It was fantastic. Rammed to the roof with aviation treasure. So much to see and many guides on hand for a chat. A very interesting place for all ages.

Upon arriving the lesser half decided to go to the wrong car park no idea why ??? After walking a bit further than needed we arrived at reception and were greeted by a very friendly lady who informed us about all we needed to know to get started (also they do a military discount). There is a wide variety of... More

The overriding plus point with this museum is the fact that you are allowed access to many of the cockpits that are on display. This is certainly a rarity today as many museums will not allow contact with their exhibits let alone allow you to climb over them. Many other interesting exhibits dating from WW1 up until fairly recent service... More

We took my nephews to Boscombe Down Aviation Collection and they had a wonderful time. They went in all the planes and also on the flying simulator. My boyfriend also loves planes and was putting on the helmets and sitting in all the planes. Gary, our guide, was absolutely amazing - he was really enthusiastic and incredibly knowledgeable about all... More

What a hidden gem for aviation enthusiasts this place is. The fact you're not kept away from the exhibits you're actively encouraged by the amazibg staff to get in and enjoy and my young boys had just as much fun as us adults. Well worth the entry fee. Can't wait for the harrier cockpit to be operational. We will be... More

Thank goodness this isn't one of the museums which has been dumbed down to appeal to the lowest common denominator! I took the 12 year old son of a friend, and he was overjoyed to be able to sit in the cockpits of so many aircraft: fast jet, heavy and rotary wing. Not only that, but the volunteer staff were...
