It's a great shame this thriving collection cannot be reasonably sign posted !! Here is a great group of real enthusiasts trying successfully to maintain and retain these iconic aircraft and they are not permitted by petty bureaucracy to let the public know where they are!! Turning to the collection itself......it's not extensive and it's not terribly professional.....but what shines... More

BDAC is a little hard to find, but do persevere, it is well worth it. The place does look a little dusty as it is a working museum, undertaking restorations as well and displaying machines. Start talking to the fantastic volunteers and suddenly the place comes alive. They encourage you to climb into the planes and really feel what it... More

I visited with my wife on a Saturday Morning. We both enjoyed the visit the staff were very helpful and worked hard to ensure that we received maximum value from our visit. We were extended every bit of assistance that the could to get us close and interactive with the exhibits. I found the volunteers knowledge useful and they brought... More

What a great collection of aircraft which you can climb into and be overwealmed by. The volenteer staff were very knowledgable and let me into the helicopters outside and let me have a go in a link trainer see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Link_Trainer I'd recommend it to any person whom is visiting the area. I might have to go back with a better... More

Full marks to all involved in this excellent project. There is an incredible collection of aircraft on display. If you wish to quietly study the exhibits (which are well documented) on your own you can without hindrance. But if you wish to have things explained to you, there is always a friendly, knowledgeable guide on hand. Must arrange a return... More

I really cannot praise this museum highly enough. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The exhibits were fascinating and almost all of the cockpits were open for members of the public to climb inside. The whole place just has a tremendous buzz of enthusiasm and action. Just fantastic. Thanks.

Our 3 year old son loves visiting the museum, we live locally and it is somewhere we take our son on a regular basis. He loves that you can sit in the aircraft and press the buttons. The volunteers are very friendly and like to share their stories. It's quite rare that you can get so close to the aircraft... More

A very enjoyable couple of hours spent climbing in and out of old aircraft cockpits inside a World War I aircraft hangar. An excellent collection of aircraft and very hands-on place - great fun for teenage son and his grandad, previously a pilot. Son flew the Link Trainer - a historical flight training simulator. Very helpful and knowledgeable volunteer staff.

My wife and I passed a very pleasant day out here, enjoying the atmosphere and the setting of both the collection and the airfield itself. The staff were very friendly with very good access to the exhibits. Very highly recommended. Here are my photos of the day: http://goo.gl/8LX9T

From my son & husband.. “Dad, this is by far the best aircraft museum we’ve been to.” Those were the words of my 13 year old son who, like his Dad, is an aircraft enthusiast. We spent a fantastic two hours at the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection at Old Sarum airfield and had a truly amazing time sitting in a... More
