Not easy to find, and tourist signs should be in place. Very friendly and keen volunteers who are delighted to impart their knowledge. My husband really enjoyed the "link trainer" ( like a simulator but no visuals) and assures me he didn't crash it. My grandson would have loved all the cockpits to climb in and out of, but I... A small but friendly aviation museum with more than a dozen aircraft cockpits into which twelve-year-old boys of all ages can climb. Its other exhibits are not the shiny type you might find at the big museums, but they are always in the process of refurbishment. There are shelves of 1/72nd scale models and a large shop with second-hand books.... More

Had another chance to visit the impressive Aviation Collection at Old Sarum Airfield. I have visited this attraction only last year but I was really pleased to see they continue to improve the museum and add new exhibits. There is an impressive display of jet aircraft cockpits of which many you can actually sit in and experience at least a... More

We stopped here on our way home from a short break in Stonehenge and, my word, we're so glad we did. We practically had the place to ourselves on the Sunday afternoon we visited! More people need to go here because it's marvellous. Nothing, it appears, is out of bounds (well, the bits that are out of bounds are clearly... More

The kids loved it, they could climb in most of the aircraft and have a sit in the pilots seat. Lots of aircraft to look at and helicopters too. You can also watch real ones landing outside including crazy people parachute jumping.

A little hidden away, but well worth the effort. The ability to climb inside and sit in the planes is something I haven't seen at any other aviation museum. The staff seem to have worked on or flown most of the planes in the collection, and are amazingly knowledgeable. It's obviously run by enthusiastic amateurs so the presentation can be... More

This is a working museum where restoration work continues on old planes. Essentially the museum is located in a hanger and whilst it is interactive and you are encouraged to climb inside the cockpits of jets and touch the dials, throttle, controls etc it is a bit limited in terms of its range and scope. It feels like the museum... More

Difficult to find if you don't know the area, but don't let this put you off. Visit the collection's website for directions before you set out. Amazing collection of some of our rarest and influential aircraft. Friendly and knowledgeable staff make every minute spent a total delight. If you're new to the world of aviation or a lifetime enthusiast, this... More

Doesn't look much as you turn into the industrial estate but don't change your mind - this is a goldmine! Real cockpits from real aircraft that you're actively encouraged to sit in. I've been to countless museums for my aircraft mad son and after a while it's just another museum - not so with this place. Although you're only sitting... More

Our 4 yr old & 2 yr old Grand Children (boy & girl) absolutely loved being able to sit in the Aircraft Cockpits , followed by a picnic on the grass next to a very active Airfield with Light Aircraft ,Micro- lights in and out and even Parachuting going on. Although still quite a small museum it was a great... More
