The Magical History Tour is not just a means of ransporting you to Stonehenge but also a journey to explore the very soul of the people who have left such a mark on the landscape and in the psyche of today’s visitors. Before reaching the World Heritage Site you will be fully acquainted with the magnitude of the tasks these people undertook. At Old Sarum we stop and admire the fabulous 360 degree views. Originally an Iron-Age Fort, Old Sarum was inhabited by Celts, Romans,Saxons, Vikings and finally Normans. We stop and visit the ruined castle and imagine the chivalrous Knights jousting in the castle grounds, and wenches gossiping by the well….A short drive takes us to Old Harnham Mill close to the spot chosen by John Constable for his iconic painting of Salisbury Cathedral. Set amongst water meadows and away from the City, this is a view seen by too few visitors, which is a pity, because it is simply stunning « less

I recently had the great pleasure of joining one of these tours. The tour lasted all day and took in Salisbury, Amesbury and Stonehenge. What an incredibly interesting and informative day and great fun too. The guides, Tim and Sebastian, are a wealth of knowledge backed up by a great sense of humour. The visit to Amesbury also includes a... More

This is an excellent tour which goes way beyond the usual. It reveals a multitude of ancient and modern facts and legends. The tour takes in places that are not even open to the general public showing the hidden side of our ancient heritage. I would highly recommend the tour and the friendly and knowledgable guides that are with you... More

I contacted the Salisbury Tours / Value Cars about a personalized tour for my family (5 of us traveling during the holidays in England) for December 23rd and 24th. I was very pleased with the excellent service we received. We toured in a very comfortable van. On December 23rd - Tim picked us up at our hotel in Salisbury and... More

My wife and I took the "Magical History Tour" on New Year's Eve day. What an experience from start to finish! First of all, Tim was great over the phone, making sure that we felt confident about getting our money's worth. Our guide, Sebastian, was the perfect guide and perfect host. He picked us up from our hotel in London... More

My husband and I were celebrating our 20th year together, and came to London. Our first time over the pond, we wanted to see it all! As I made arrangements over the Internet, Tim was so helpful! He alleviated our fears, and arranged for transport from Heathrow on a Friday morning, and set up a tour for Monday morning. I... More

Visited Stonehenge area with friends and family. Took half day tour. Our guide Sebastian was great. He was very knowledgeable, courteous and very funny. You knew that he enjoyed his job. He seemed just as excited as us to see the sites. The next day Tim picked us up to take us to the airport. He also showed us some... More

My wife and I took a great tour this month (August 2013) to Stonehenge, Salisbury and old Sarum with the Magical History Tour. We took the train from London to Salisbury in the morning (which was very easy to do). Our tour guide, Tim, picked us up at the train station and then drove us around in a very spacious... More

We took the half day tour of the Salisbury from Bath. Our guide was very knowledgable as he introduced us to lots of secrets and historical tidbits about the places on out way. He had chance to view old thatched cottages around Salisbury country side. We also had a chance to see amazing Caen Hill Locks.

My wife and I were in London for a few days celebrating our "babymoon". We wanted to go to Stonehenge, Bath and Windsor Castle. I spent a few hours doing research on tour companies and was actually referred to Salisbury by another tour company that couldn't pick us up from London. Scott (owner) arranged a car and driver for us.... More
