Thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour of Salisbury last weekend, with an interesting, knowledgeable and entertaining Blue Badge Guide. We learnt so much that we would never have known from walking the city on our own, which we have done in the past. Definitely to be recommended.

Last Saturday (7th Mar 15) we visited Salisbury and took an official tour with a guide around the city. Besides the usual information, when it was founded and why; we were also subjected to a talk on architectural fashion, things are not what they seem, the plague, medieval church practices and more. A thoroughly entertaining 90 mins by David (the... More

We just did this city walk with a very knowledgeable man called David. It only costs £5 per person and i am delighted to tell you that it definitely was worth it. Does not matter how many times you visit a place or even live you don't normally notice some of very peculiar and interesting facts that are shown to... More

Had a wonderful 90 minutes in the company of David, a most knowledgeable guide for a walk around Salisbury or New Sarum to give it it's proper title. Learnt all about the history and making of both Old and New Sarum, visited the old Courthouse and St Thomas' Church, before finishing at the Cathedral.

This is run daily from the Tourist information Office. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining as he walked us around the streets, showing us details on buildings and telling us the stories they held.Well worth the £5

I managed to get a one on one tour as no one else was booked but even if there had been others this would have been great value for money (5 pounds for 75 minutes). The guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic; more than once I noted he referred to research he did as part of his personal development on the... More

A very informative tour of Salisbury commencing from the Tourist Information Office and taking about 90 minutes. Jim our guide had a great knowledge of the town and its history and he made the tour very interesting. Well worth doing.

There can be no better way to learn about the history of a town than to have a guided walk. This one costs £5 for about 90mins starting outside the Tourist Office in Fish Row at 11.00am and ending at the Cathedral. The blue guide pointed out so many things you would just not notice or realise what you were... More

I spent a day in Salisbury and I thought it was just great. A really lovely market, beautiful cathedral and nice shops/restraunts. I would recommend taking the tourist office's city tour if you have the time/interest. It was only 4 pounds for a two hour tour, and you'll definitely go places you wouldn't on your own. I posted more details... More
