One of the smaller NT houses but well worth a visit - a relaxed family atmosphere prevails, great staff and a pretty courtyard garden with a quaint cafe. Combine it with one of the othe attractions and you have a good half day out.

As NT members we decided to visit Mompesson House on a day out to Salisbury. The house is a lovely location, looking onto the Cathedral Close, the house easily found just to the left of the main exit into the town. The house isn't as big as many NT properties but still impressive, the focus inside on the filming of... More

My husband and I decided on a whim to pop into this National Trust house after taking a look at Salisbury Cathedral. It's a small place and you can get through it in about 45 minutes - there are a lot of older docents there (as at all NT locations) who are welcoming and eager to chat with you about... More

Not one of the biggest NT properties, but easy to see in about 30-45 minutes on your tour of Salisbury.

A small National Trust run property. The volunteers/staff were very welcoming and had interesting anecdotes to pass on to you. It is quite a small property so doesn't take a great amount of time to walk round. Small tranquil garden.

Very interesting historic building. The staff were both friendly and very helpful. Lovely little Tea shop in the corner of a well presented garden.

A surprisingly cosy feeling house. Nice sized rooms, high ceilings, painted wooden panelling. You could almost imagine it making a nice home - not a feeling I normally get from this sort of house. Knowledgeable and friendly volunteers throughout had some interesting info about the house and its contents.

Lovely NT property with lots to see and appreciate. Nice tea shop behind house. House has been used for various film locations too. Best to check on the National Trust website for opening times. Not particularly suitable for children,

Although not the largest National Trust property, this house is well worth a visit. Connected to the Austen family ( it is believed) it was also a setting for one of the Pride and Prejudice films. There are costumes and stills from the filming around the house that do help bring it alive. A small garden and Tea room round... More

We loved seeing this home in Salisbury and we felt that we could move in. Small house but beautiful.
