Went here to am NT live showing when visiting the city. Just the same sort of audience as at home for such events - preponderantly middle aged and conservatively middle class. It was like climbing Everest (or so I imagined) getting up to the back row of screen 1. The décor and seating was so like my recollection of cinemas... More

We went to watch Mrs Browns Boys D Movie in the Odeon Cinema in Salisbury. We had pre-booked and paid for our tickets online. The collection of the tickets from the automatic teller in the foyer was a breeze, simply insert the card use to purchase your tickets and hey presto they were printed for us. The foyer of the... I'm sorry to be negative, but this is a very bad place to see a film. Yes it is a historic building but not for a cinema! In the main theater, you are back miles away from the screen. And the seats had duct tape on them. The whole place is worn and shabby. Dismal inside. For the full price... More

No need for the priority seats. But catch a movie here to see this well preserved ancient building and fascinating architecture

Its quaint, reminds me why I stopped going to the cinema in the 70's. For a step back in time use, it but for serious viewing quality and comfort go to a purpose built modern alternative odeon.

The Odeon in Salisbury is set in a nice, albeit hidden building. However, that's just about the only thing going for it. The tickets and refreshments are grossly overpriced, there is a very poor choice of what to watch and despite Salisbury being a fairly large city, even in the larger (and presumably more popular) screens, it's pretty dead most... When we got to the screen which seemed to be tucked away in the back it was aboit half the size of a normal cinema screen, the sound was okay not great and the seats looked ancient with ni cup holders meaning that drinks etc... This is a lovely cinema with great character as you walk in and buy tickets. Went to see 'Pompeii' over the weekend and enjoyed it but was a little chilly so worth brining layers with you and maybe some heating would be good.

This is an Odeon situated on the high street in Salisbury, whats different about it is it is an old playhouse. The charm and the warmliness of the building make this a special odeon. The cinema part itself is good and delivers what you would expect but the fact that the location and building itself are so good makes it... More

Looks like it should be a Harry Potter set, although once past the medieval entrance, it's a bit scruffy, smells a bit musty and doesn't have great soundproofing in between the screens - did get to hear two films at once though for the price if one !
