This is a very old cinema, and feels very tatty. Compared to a modern Odeon, the screen is tiny and the sound flat. There is restricted access for wheelchair users, and you have to go round to the back door outside, and someone has to let you in. Nearly fell down a step in the cinema as dark and step... More

My partner is very much into climbing & his father had also been to base camp so this movie was great. We both enjoyed it & to be able to enjoy it in such a beautiful building also was an honour. I'd go out of my way to watch a film here just for the history. Thanks for preserving it.

Went to this fabulous cinema with free tickets and was speechless at the beauty of the 1931 built mock Tudor seating area,(screen 1) which has to be seen to be believed. The entrance and exterior is 15th Century and is totally amazing. Go just to be in the building! Digital sound is great and seating comfortable. Good shop selling all... More

What a great building and a great cinema experience. Good central location, oozes character and is something different for those who dont want another "out-the-can" cinema experience. Friendly staff and a price like any other cinema charges. Only downside is the screen we had was a little small. Could do with updating the screens, sound system and seats.

Nice little surprise this cinema. Very nice place, just a pity the Bind movie was rubbish. Booked for Star Wars 3D so hopefully the great cinema will have a great film

This is a cinema unlike any other. It is worth a visit just to look at the beautiful, historic interior.you would have no idea from the street of just how amazing it is inside. Screen one is the old theatre auditorium and is stunning BUT the screen is tiny and the seats are miles away. you are better off picking... More

This building is not recognisable as a cinema but more akin to something from the Middle Ages. There are 5 cinema screens and are all quite small. The service is very good and friendly and they also have an alcohol licence for those interested in more than a soft drink. This cinema is well worth a visit.

Fantastic "old" cinema, fun to visit to look at, but not to see a film in. Overly expensive (12 quid) plus parking fees, old uncomfortable seating, poor sound systems, and if you have a moth flying around in the projection booth (like my showing did) not great vision either. Is that a minion I see? No, it's the moth... :)... More

I went here and wasn't expecting such an old building. The film we watched was awful, but I was blown away by the building. It's like they have put a modern cinema into Shakespeare's house!!. A fantastic job and I guess the company have probably saved the fabric of the original building which is to be commended. I would recommend... More

This cinema is in a historic building and of course one would expect some age to show but the fixtures and fittings are modern and there is no excuse for the state they were in. Screen 4 had graffiti on the backs of chairs. At least one chair did not have a back. The floor carpet was sticky to walk... More
