Actually tried visiting Wilton last year in September. Unfortunately the House closes 1st September & we went on the 6th so had a wasted journey. Glad to say that we visited in June this time to make sure it was open. Glad we decided to try again as we had a great day out. The weather was very warm &... More

We had the very best of days out in the English countryside. Wilton House offers a wonderfully-kept historic country home amid gloriously languid lawned gardens with fabulous trees. Then there is the magnificent Palladian bridge straddling one of the two passing rivers....but you can read this in the brochure. From the front door, through the house with stunning paintings and... My husband and I truly enjoyed Wilton House. There was a lot of great art. The family of Wilton is connected to the family of Highclere Castle (Herbert). The house has Rembrandt.

We visited Wilton House on Wednesday as we wanted to see the Cecil Beaton exhibition. That was disappointing....BUT....when we arrived we were informed it was Tour Day and offered the opportunity to join, free, a guided tour of the house. The Head Guide took our tour. Her in-depth knowledge of, and affection for, the House and its Art, History and... More

We visited Wilton House while staying nearby at the Cricket Field House. It was a delightful experience. First, we entered what used to be the barn and saw all of these stunning cars, no horses. I had never seen any of these types of cars before. A kindly gentleman who works at Wilton House explained the unique nature of many... More

We purposely chose to visit the grounds only, on this occasion, and what a lovely day we had. The admissions area and gift shop and light, airy and very spacious. The lady was extremely helpful and on first impressions, if you haven't been before, a family ticket of £17 for the grounds seems a little expensive, but bear with it,... More

Have an annual card so decided to have a walk round the gardens and take in the scenery. Always looks beautiful and well kept no matter what time of year . Perfect for families of all ages due to the interesting house and the adventure park for younger kids to burn off energy . Went into the cafe to treat... More

Really enjoyed my visit to this property. The house itself was not open when we arrived, so we spent some time exploring the Pembroke car collection, where the room steward talked to us about the history of the vehicles; next door, a temporary exhibition of Cecil Beaton photos was also interesting, as was a short video on the history of... I loved my day at Wilton House. The weather was rather poor, but despite this I went around the park grounds twice in the rain, with a visit to the house in between. A river runs alongside the park, with a Palladian bridge (not accessible) crossing it, and a 'folly' lodge in the woods on a hill beyond. Beautiful. The... More

We visited Wilton House to meet the in-laws for a light lunch and to see the exhibitions. We paid £26.00 for 2 adults and 2 OAPs to visit the gardens and the two exhibitions (Cecil Beaton and wonderful cars). We received a £4.00 Gift Aid contribution to the restaurant - which was enormously confusing. The staff at the restaurant didn't... More
