Description: Tropical World at Roundhay Park is one of the most well-loved family...
Tropical World at Roundhay Park is one of the most well-loved family attractions in Leeds and only three miles from the city centre. At Tropical World you can take a trek through the rainforest; stopping off briefly in the outback of Australia before a quick excursion through the desert, and all in the same morning! We re-opened on Tuesday 24 March. This follows some stunning renovations that have seen our aquarium area transformed into a new Amazon themed zone where you can see new residents including Piranhas and Salamanders. We are home to some old friends that include rare birds, crocodiles, butterflies, bats, spiders, snakes and our meerkats - the cutest family in Leeds.

Wanted to go here since forever but never got round to it sadly was disappointed hardly any butterfly's apart from the fish and meerkats nothing moved a lot apart from a poor thing that hopped getting chased by the mice ! I don't know how they ran it for free or donations but £5 is steep and the tortoises were... More

After reading about this place for ages me and my boyfriend finally came for a visit. Very very busy (but it was a Saturday after all!) and quite cramped inside, but obviously this is a very popular place. Really enjoyed walking around looking at the animals, lots of information and the Aztec bit was really cool. VERY HOT in some... More

I have been going here since I was a child and used to love the place but I am now so disappointed and won't return. After bringing my nephew for the past couple of years, he never wanted to go as we were in and out in 10 minutes. But after the refurbishment he begged me to take him as... More

Visited Tropical World with my other half. The place is easy to get to using public transport (we caught the number 12 bus). When the weather is a bit warmer, this would be a lovely place to stay for the whole day with the park and gardens nearby. We arrived around 11am and even though there was a short queue,... More

Nice Family day out. Good value for money. Butterflies are lovely to walk through. Fairly long queues to get in.

Newly refurbished, tropical world has been revitalized. Thankfully we got there early before the queues started. The children loved going round but got a little hot and bothered towards the end. The meerkats were the highlight. A relatively cheap day out if you combine it with an afternoon's play at Roundhay park.

A lot of people are not happy with this place but for a council run attraction this is 5 stars. Brand new look , bigger cafe and lots to see and do. As this place has had a refurbishment it will be very busy for the next couple of months so avoid until it drops off if you don't like... More
