Took my girlfriend here after hearing about this place and always seeing signs for it. I'd heard there were indoor greenhouses with butterflies and birds in, and just wanted to take her to see that part, but I sort of expected the rest of it to be outdoors, so was surprised when I arrived there The whole experience is like... Visited Tropical World and was left really unispiried. It was boiling hot, under maintenance, crowded and just a lot fo nothing basically. The animal shelters were poor, animals itself sparse and unvaried and the whole place was just like a sweaty building site. Wouldn't bother again.

Tropical World is a really fun and educational place to visit for kids and adults alike. Butterflies are flying around you and an array of birds too. The price is very reasonable and it's in the most beautiful grounds of Roundhay Park, so great to visit before or after a lovely walk around the beautiful gardens. It is a very... More

We enjoyed seeing the many different butterfly species, fish, meerkats, snakes and the various creepy crawlies. Oh yes, and a small croc' too! It seemed to be especially exciting for kids and kept them well entertained for an hour or two. With a café nearby, lovely gardens and set near Rounday Park, it is definitely worth a visit if you... As we were at the park next to this attraction we decided to pop in and see if it was worth a visit. The entrance fee was very low, it is apparently subsidised by Leeds Council, so we didn't expect much. What a wonderful surprise!! There were lots of different species to see, Meerkats, crocodiles, tortoises, butterflies, fish and reptiles... More

There were four in our party, two adults, an over 65 and a soon to be two year old. This was our first visit and took us a couple of minutes to find our bearings as the car park is a little walk away from the venue. The staff were friendly enough and we were soon on our way. There... More

I had a great hour or so in there and enjoyed every moment. The meercat babies are incredibly cute! You can spend more time in there but I wouldn't say more than two hours, but for the price and amount of animals it was well worth it. A word of advice is don't walk in with your winter woolies, expect... More

I love it here! It's only £3.50 to get in, and there is loads to see. You start off with the most amazing tropical butterflies dancing round your head. Some of these beauties are the size of small birds, and incredibly colourful. The bird section is good too, with Scarlet Ibis and the like peering down on you. The best... More
