Description: Tropical World at Roundhay Park is one of the most well-loved family...
Tropical World at Roundhay Park is one of the most well-loved family attractions in Leeds and only three miles from the city centre. At Tropical World you can take a trek through the rainforest; stopping off briefly in the outback of Australia before a quick excursion through the desert, and all in the same morning! It is home to some old friends that include rare birds, crocodiles, butterflies, bats, spiders, snakes and the meerkats - the cutest family in Leeds. It re-opened in March 2015. This follows some stunning renovations that include the aquarium area transformed into a new Amazon themed zone where you can see new residents including piranhas and salamanders.

An interesting attraction. Very hot & humid during the summer months. Butterfly enclosure was impressive. Good value.

we've been going to tropical world for a few years. although topical world and its grounds are lovely, it is a short visit. typically 30 minutes it will take you to go through the indoor area, with parrots, butterflies and birds flying free. there is an area to see bats in the dark. it is amazing to see all the... Myself and my boyfriend were visiting friends who live in Leeds and this was a perfect little afternoon trip for us to enjoy! The ticket entry is not too expensive and there was plenty to see and do. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to do something on a budget but when the weather isn't great :)

Loved it, and a bargain too! Lots of rare animals some of which I've never seen before. Only reason I didn't score 5 stars is because I felt like the animals were not very well looked after, and upon entering we did not witness and staff inside or feeding and we were there for 2 and a half hours. The... More

We had an excellent time here, entry for me, a six year old and a three year old was around £7 and the experience was out of this world for the price. Several "biomes" included various plant, insect, bird, reptiles and fish along with some tamerins and meerkat, the climate in each area was well simulated. Be warned the first... More

Enjoyed visiting Tropical world today, enjoyed the Butterflies, Monkeys and Meerkats. It's the 1st time we have visited since they have updated it and started to charge and have to admit that I find it a little expensive as there is not much of a difference since visiting the version. It would be much better if they could possibly invest... More
