Whilst visiting our grown up daughter in Leeds we had a couple of hours to kill in the morning while she was busy. We didn't want to go shopping and didn't want to stray too far from Leeds, we saw this in the Hotel room in a places to visit brochure about Leeds. We decided for £3.50 entrance fee we... More

I went with friends, and, although none of us had been in a fair few years, some not at all, we all enjoyed it not only for nostalgia, but on face-value. It's the closest to a tropical setting I believe there is for many miles around, and well worth a visit. Fairly good value for money (take a couple of... More

So glad we spotted this on trip advisor. A wonderful way to wind away an hour (I'm sure you could stay longer actually). Being able to meander around at your own speed & peer at all the strange animals you'd expect in a tropical house. The nocturnal exhibit is particularly well done. Does look a bit careworn but I'd go... More

What an interesting place to visit and excellent value at just £3.50 per adult. All the creatures seem well cared for, would definitely visit again but just in shorts and flip flops as it was 110 Fahrenheit and 100% humidity phew!!

Took my girlfriend here after hearing about this place and always seeing signs for it. I'd heard there were indoor greenhouses with butterflies and birds in, and just wanted to take her to see that part, but I sort of expected the rest of it to be outdoors, so was surprised when I arrived there The whole experience is like... Visited Tropical World and was left really unispiried. It was boiling hot, under maintenance, crowded and just a lot fo nothing basically. The animal shelters were poor, animals itself sparse and unvaried and the whole place was just like a sweaty building site. Wouldn't bother again.

Tropical World is a really fun and educational place to visit for kids and adults alike. Butterflies are flying around you and an array of birds too. The price is very reasonable and it's in the most beautiful grounds of Roundhay Park, so great to visit before or after a lovely walk around the beautiful gardens. It is a very... More

We enjoyed seeing the many different butterfly species, fish, meerkats, snakes and the various creepy crawlies. Oh yes, and a small croc' too! It seemed to be especially exciting for kids and kept them well entertained for an hour or two. With a café nearby, lovely gardens and set near Rounday Park, it is definitely worth a visit if you... As we were at the park next to this attraction we decided to pop in and see if it was worth a visit. The entrance fee was very low, it is apparently subsidised by Leeds Council, so we didn't expect much. What a wonderful surprise!! There were lots of different species to see, Meerkats, crocodiles, tortoises, butterflies, fish and reptiles... More
