Always liked this place, but don't miss the nature reserve and two bird hides at the South Side of the park (Dogs NOT allowed) We spotted a fox sunbathing and a heron actually catch a fish. The "Bird Spotters" in the hide were very helpful and were enthusiastically identifying the birds for both me and the kids we had in... More

Beautiful for a Sunday walk after visiting The Lawnswood Arms for Sunday lunch.Loads of birds to feed at the lake that you can leisurely walk round in approx an hour.A cafe is on site and most Sunday's the resident ice-cream van is there from dawn to dusk. There is no entry fee but the grounds and lake are impeccably maintained... More

A very pleasant park with interesting plants and staff willing to advise you on planting at home. The tea room is pleasant but unfortunately it closes at 3.30 in the winter months

A place to visit whatever the season. Good car park, level walking and generally wheelchair friendly. Take an anti-clockwise circuit round the lake and through the woods to arrive at the small cafe for a snack. The abundant waterfowl are very tame and will expect you to feed them some duck food from the cafe! There is a roofed bird... More

Lovely walks through the park. You can choose the long or short walk. Lovely scenery. A shame that there isn't a playground for the kids i think. Bird reserve is quite nice and we saw a wood pecker which was cool.

Good free car parking. Can get very busy at weekends. Great place for children and families. Large pond to feed ducks. Bird hide to observe without the birds watching! Good cafe after lovely walks.

Been a while since going to Golden Acre park and it was really lovely. Cafe had expensive sandwiches but we opted for a hot really tasty sausage roll and the kids had the Yorkshire puddings...3 gravy covered children later... And one happy daddy who was forced to eat the left overs! We had a walk via the birds and the... More

Fantastic place for getting outdoors and enjoying time with family and friends. Take a picnic and sit by the lake or have a wander through the gardens. There is a café on site serving snacks and drinks.

Wet winters day but still a nice walk. Will need to visit again in the better weather. Handy café although service was a bit pedestrian.

Love this park, great place walk the dog. Sometimes a little bit wet and muddy if it has been heavy rain but we'll worth a visit. The garden area is wonderful in the summer
