The food has definitely improved over the past year and is a super way to make the whole theatre experience (particularly when attending a matinee) more enjoyable.

While in Yorkshire for the Grand Depart, we saw Beryl here the night before Stage 1. I know this is not a review of the play itself, but, just to go on record, what an outstanding story. Thanks to Maxine Peake for giving this woman props, especially on the eve of the Tour de France. We took bus #36 from... More

great accoustics, every seat I've occupied had a good view. Ample parking on site with cafe you can visit whether or not you're at the theatre - not a bad place for lunch in leeds

My first visit to this theatre and I was pleasantly surprised. A small and well laid out theatre and great to see good facilities for a wheelchair. It is fantastic to feel you are involved with the play. The show 'Betty Blue Eyes' was absolutely fantastic and I am sure the ambience of the theatre itself added to the performance.... More

Saw the Beryl Burton play this afternoon - fabulous script, fantastic performance, clever use of props. I loved every second of this play and loved the way the whole performance came together to create the life story of such an amazing person. This was a treat to myself and I loved being able to go to a mid-week afternoon matinee.... More

An amazing of untold stories with the brilliant Reece Dinsdale and the lovely Ligetti quartet adding so much to the first half! It had pace, poignancy and many laugh out loud moments-can't praise it highly enough!

Whilst not as Grand as the Grand Theatre, or as historic as the City Varieties, this more modern theatre just goes to show how much Leeds has to offer. We made an afternoon and evening of it and visited the Just Grand! vintage tea rooms in the Grand Arcade before walking down to the Playhouse to take in the musical... More

Good theatre, good catering, pleasant staff. A nice introductory visit. My one gripe, as a non Leeds resident, was the lack of signs from the railway station. Saw first direction indicator when across the road. This apart, no complaints.
