one of many live Leeds theatres with varied sized halls and one man to multi cast offering. Across from Leeds transport hub for local and inter city buses. Good prices with discounts for seniors and children.

Went to watch the crucible on Saturday which was fabulous...well done all. Anyway the theatre is huge, the lighting was good and the seating was adequate. The main bar takes card but the cafe doesn't and the cash machine didn't work in reception. I saw a few people put out by this...where doesn't take card nowadays.

West Yorkshire Playhouse is a perfect example of what a theatre should be as a core part of the community and a hub of activity. Staff are friendly throughout and clearly all enjoy their jobs and where they work. The layout of the building has been thought out and is easy to use. The cafe/restaurant is busy throughout the week... More

Always a great place to visit and enjoy a theatrical experience. Not to be missed. Sound bar and two comfortable auditoriums which, together with a varied and exciting programme makes this a valuable asset of the city. Meeting the actors after a performance too is quite unique and entertaining.

The WYP, at first, appears cold and uninviting but this really is not the case at all. It offers a wide selection of plays and dance and it really is a treat. The bar turns into a bit of a crush at interval and this could be reduced if organised differently. Otherwise a fantastic auditorium with excellent views from each... More

Yes the building lacks any charm but the quality of the productions invariably makes up for this. The summer with Bennett and much more was particularly strong. There is not a poor seat in the house and the modern stage design means that you can always enjoy the theatre's offering to the full. The bar is functional and reasonably efficient. It's... More

The food has definitely improved over the past year and is a super way to make the whole theatre experience (particularly when attending a matinee) more enjoyable.
