Like many theatres the WYP adds booking fees to ticket prices, so a '£12' ticket actually costs £13.75. Why not advertise it as £13.75?

Fabulous performance last night. Great seats 3 rows from the front. However, today's review is all about the marvellous care & medical attention I received when I felt faint during the performance. I left the theatre when I began to feel unwell and stepped into the foyer area with my friend. Immediately 2 members of staff came over to assist....bringing... More

We went in January to see White Christmas, and at a fraction of the price of the west end production. We were in the very cheap seats, and although you are a long way from the stage, and off to one side, the view is fine. It might not be as good for a play with less actors, but for... More

I hadn’t been to the Playhouse for quite a few years to see a play, but as I work nearby have been to the restaurant many times, which serves pretty good food – if a little on the expensive side. I would say though, it’s probably good for meeting for a coffee or quick beer beforehand, but not that great... More

We visited WYP this week for our annual treat to see the Northern Broadsides production. This is always preceded by tea in the cafe, but on this occasion were told that there is no cafeteria in the evening but waiter service only. We were given a typed sheet of paper with some very uninspiring - and expensive - choices and... More

I visited here for the first time recently and found it to be a lovely little venue. We got the 'cheap' seats for To Kill A Mockingbird, but there's no such thing as a bad view in the quarry. The food and drink is also very reasonably priced as is the car park, £2 after 6pm and it doesn't get... More

My first visit to this theatre and I wasn't sure what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised. The bar area was a little bit "canteeny" but served a decent range of beers. The play we saw was in the Courtyard Theatre, very comfortable and good seating positions. Overall a very pleasant experience. I will certainly go back when there... More

Went to see To Kill a Mockingbird with my granddaughter and had a lovely time. The play was excellent and the playhouse as always was lovely with excellent staff and reasonably priced drinks. We are very lucky to have the playhouse in Leeds

I haven't been to the playhouse q years and couldn't resist going to see white Christmas in December. Compared to some other theatres the ticket prices were quite reasonable. The show was amazing. The theatre is not as pretty and old as some but its quite big. 2 stages, various bars around the venue that are not extortionate prices and... More

We have now made several visits to the WYP, (most recently for White Christmas and Uncle Vanya), and have come to appreciate how accessible the theatre is and how much community related work is done. There is considerable variety in the current programme of productions and this will ensure we return several more times this year. Good points: + Very... More
