..a fantastic theatre..it is very traditional in decor with superb painted ceilings..the view was awesome..we were lucky enough to see the Northern Ballet's production of Romeo and Juliet with their own orchestra..lifts were available for those who struggle with walking..there are a lot of stairs but this is necessary with three balconies..one little issue..interval ice cream was not Yorkshire's own!

Seating is cramped and uncomfortable, no ventilation so within an hour with a full house it's like a sauna even in February.

Sorry you found the theatre to be cramped and over heated. Obviously, like all theatres of this age, seating does tend to get closer together the further up you go. We've actually lost over 1000 seats since the venue opened - that's how tightly people were originally packed in! We did have new seats put in the stalls in the... More

I went to a performance of Dirty Dancing here in November. A couple who were drunk in the row behind me were talking continuously throughout the performance. The staff did nothing. I spoke to the duty manager during the interval and asked if they could be moved or told they would have to leave if they didn't keep quiet. Again... More

My first visit to the Opera was not a disappointment in any way, the theatre was 'Grand' in every possible way...what a fantastic venue we have on our doorsteps. Make any excuse to see both the Opera and this wonderful theatre

The performers at tonight's Opera North production of The Marriage of Figaro worked extremely hard and delivered a stunning performance. The evening was spoilt by squeaky / creaky seating, horrid flooring on the ground floor which did not help to dampen the noise. Staff we're not working hard enough to stop the numerous mobile phones being used around. No announcements... More

Sorry you were disappointed in the venue. Unfortunately as an old building, we do have a few creaks and groans. With regards the mobile phone announcement, we are working with Opera North to ensure that these announcements are made before their performances in future - they are before other performances in the venue. You can see some great shows at Leeds Grand. The theatre is lovely and there is always a great atmosphere. This time I went to see Dirty Dancing which was great fun with the audience singing along. There is water available in the bar as well as drinks to purchase and you can take your drinks into the theatre. Lots... More

Sick of watching my football team romp away with the Scottish Championship, it was decided that a piece of culture should fill the void on Valentine's Day.u So came about my first visit to the Grand Theatre and, indeed, opera. Now La Traviata is an opera set around a bed, basically. Well, the opera North version was. Surprisingly, I enjoyed... More

Went to see Dirty Dancing here which was excellent. Not much queuing to get in either. Has a couple of bars which are expensive but this is to be expected. Overall a lovely place!
