Went to the Saturday matinee of this wonderful musical. Row H in the stalls with a great view of the action. Glass of wine in the bar before show, not too expensive and as we were there about half an hour before the start of the show, it was easy to get served. Very busy in the interval. It is... More

Seen many shows here over the years, from Pantomimes to musicals, the last one I saw was a few years ago now, Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat with Jason Donovan. Just a shame that some of the seats are limited view with posts/pillars in the way but plenty of refreshments and not quite as expensive as I'd have expected.

Great small theatre but it was a very warm evening and very hot on top balcony. Excellent venue, intimate and easy to see/hear. Lovely old building, city centre.

always a joy to go to the grand . its got a really good atmosphere and feels like a proper theatre. has a good website for booking and there are always good shows on with a good variety. only one small thing, when booking for children it would be nice if the age restriction was shown on the website. at... I've seen many shows here and I really like it - its a beautiful theatre, no doubt steeped in history. I've sat in many different seats, from the stalls, to the dress circle, to a box. The seats aren't the best, I am tall and struggle with leg room but it's only for a few hours. My only grumble is... More

I have visited here before and last night returned to see the very good production of Calamity Jane. This well restored theatre is a gem from the Victorian tiles to the magnificent ceiling in the auditorium

Been here to see many shows including this week for Calamity Jane. My only issue and its tiny, is the seats creak like mad so whenever someone moves (and they all seem to sit near me) it gets a bit annoying. Went to see Wicked last year and got a box for four of us, but in fairness 2 of... More

We went for a Russell Watson show, as my daughter was singing in his backing choir. His reputation seems not to have reached the US where we live, and this kind of “crossover” isn’t really our cup of tea (please turn down the amplification, Russell, you just don't need it that loud!) — but the Grand Theatre per se is... The theatre interior is simply stunning, the range of shows that come here and broad and the staff helpful and friendly. I am looking forward to my next visit.
