An essential visit for anyone interested in the history of Leeds. As Betjeman wrote " The very heart of Leeds". With all the fantastic new buildings that Leeds now boasts his words still ring true. A special place for very many people in Leeds and no wonder.

Whitelocks is part of the history of Leeds, but easily missed, if you don't know its location. It is sited near Carphone warehouse on Briggate and well worth a visit. Great selection of Ales and also good food.

My mother used to take me here when I was a child as even in winter it had a great outside seating, as it is just a ginnel. Once I was old enough to go inside was amazed it is so great with mirrors, and lots of original features.
