“Leeds Town Hall - Cuthbert Broderick's Finest Hour!”

Leeds Town Hall is an excellent example of Cuthbert Brodrick’s fine architecture. It was built during the 1850’s and is instantly recognisable to all ‘Loiners’. From it’s time of construction until 1966 it was the tallest building in Leeds standing at 225 feet tall. It is no longer used for council meetings, as it was replaced by Leeds Civic Hall... More

we went on a sunday and had a look it . it has twin towers and steps up to the front doors it really looks grand we would have liked to go in but it was sunday and they had a german market and beer tent outside will go back on a week day next time we come from london... More

“Victorian splendour”

As with most town halls built during the Victorian era, extravgance came as standard when each city tried to outdo its rivals. Great collection of civic silverware, close connections to the Ark Royal, a great concert hall and closeness to all the local amenities and museums make this town hall worth a visit. More
