Thornton’s arcade is a pedestrianised shopping precinct with historical importance to Leeds. It was opened in the late 19th century (one of the oldest remaining arcades) as a thoroughfare between Briggate and Lands Lane. Lovely arcade, an interesting mix of very expensive shops and affordable shops. If you love toiletries and gifts, this is the place for you - check out Rose and Co Apothecary shop absolutely wonderful! More

Generations of Leeds kids and thousands of visitors have waited for the quarter hour to strike and the clock to come to life - I still do. Good range of shops too if you prefer shopping to the free show. More
