We visited Harewood House on a cloudy day in August and were pleasantly surprised with what we found, the house is large and impressive. The staff are friendly and engaging and children are given an activity pack upon entry. In each room the curators and staff spoke to the children and answered any questions we had. There is a strong... More

The house and grounds are very well kept and are beautiful to see. My husband and I walked through the house admiring the history but felt a little awkward at times as in every other room there was someone there to tell you about the room if you'd like which is good if that's what you're into but if you're... I was lucky enough to visit Harewood House on a beautiful day in early autumn, and found the house, gardens and guides to all be absolutely first class. The welcome at the gate, the helpful people in the front hall and the guides throughout the rooms made my visit feel educative and fascinating. There is a lot to see, so... More

Love Harewood house, it's years since I've been and I'd forgotten what a gem of a place it is. Myself and 3 friends and their 4 children decided to have a day trip on Monday, although it was a dull rainy day we had a great time. The kids loved playing in the playground and would have played all day... More

What can I say, what a fantastic day! We went along to Harewood House on a wet miserable day, I was concerned that the experience would only be good on a nice day. I couldn't have been more wrong. First of all we experienced the large play area where the boys ran round and played for quite some time, waved... More

We went with friends on a damp Monday but it was perfect for my toddlers. The playground was, admittedly, quiet, but they played happily for ages on the area specified for their age group. On a busy day I would, however prefer it if the toddler area was gated/fenced...it's hard watching two adventurers especially with the attraction of the larger... More

Harewood House was a great day out with friends and 4 young children. We had loads of room for them to run around the adventure playground before having some lunch in the courtyard cafe. I had an amazing home made sausage roll that could have fed 2 people! The others had lovely scones with tea and coffee. The staff were... More

This beautiful house has everything. Parking is adequate and within an easy walk of the main house and the gardens. Whilst there are small shops and food outlets it does not come over as excessively commercialised. Inside the actual house the rooms are beautifully maintained and displayed. The route around the house is straight-forward and without stairs. Each room has... More

Very historic & classy place. There was an play area for the kids & a bird garden within the grounds. A large portion of the house was closed off to the public.

Visited with group from Art Fund. The house visit was only able to show us the highlights due to shortage of time but if one wanted to study the house in any depth one would have to stay for several days!! The house is full of treasures from Chippendale furniture to two Turner oil painting and Many other Turner paintings and... More
