Really disappointed upstairs closed for refurbishment as well as parts of downstairs for the setting up of a new exhibition. There seemed to be very little to see. I was surprised to see so little in the art galley of a major city. Hopefully when it's finished it will be worth visiting again. Entrance is free. Didn't use cafe but... More

Given the status of Leeds as a city the art gallery could do with more selection and design including more use of the lecture halls. The upper floor was also closed...

I am surprised at the size of Leeds city has such a disappointing art gallery.. hardly any art to see and all the rooms feel disjointed, no flow. if you are disabled the lift to the upper floor is quite a walk away. I have visited art galleries all over the world and found Leeds gallery so disappointing ..

They had some interesting exhibits and it was worth visiting even though quite a lot of it was between exhibitions and empty. The gallery is small enough to visit when visitng other attractions too and has a lovely cafe inside and an interesting gallery craft shop.

Worth a visit if only to get out of the cold and if art is your thing I expect it well worth a visit. A bit disappointed in the cafe. in such an historic building a more traditional feel would suit the place better rather than the contemporary offering. More of a vintage step back in time feel like you... More

This gallery is in a lovely old building with lots of paintings from different periods. I love it here and think they have done really well to keep it free.

I came here with the wife's parents and must admit, tried my best to get out of going. After failing to do so, I decided I'd make the most of our visit. I was not disappointed, found myself admiring work that is never picture myself admiring, and I found it highly interesting! A must for art lovers, and those who... More

Whenever I go to Leeds, it is usually on work related matters but, when I have the time, I pop in to Leeds City Art Gallery to see what's on. I don't profess to be knowledgeable about art in any way and, like most people, just like or dislike the things that I see but, whenever I visit this place,... More
