We went up the Chevin several times as it was such a nice place to walk, the views were incredible, and you can easily watch the planes taking off out of Bradford. It's a pretty easy walk up from the town of Otley. Though a little steep, it takes about half an hour. We followed paths hither and yon to... More

This is a special place for wildlife enthusiasts, dog walkers and lovers of peace and quiet (apart from the planes coming over every few minutes!). Never heaving with people, plenty of space for all to walk or just sit and enjoy the views. Take something warm though if venturing up on an evening as it can get chilly quickly. A... More

As you leave North Leeds and head towards Otley, Skipton and the Lake District you pass the Chevin. Stop and enter this place. Your time will be well spent. Every tree you can name and more. Plants by the score. A lovely place to "wander as a cloud" ( ww). Peace and away from the busy City and noise. A... More

Whether you are young, old or inbetween, a hardened walker, or cyclist or just a beginner. Whether you want an easy walk or a longer more difficult one this is the place to visit. At this time of year wrap up well, it gets a bit fresh when at the surprise view. Views, did I mention the views, 360 degrees,... More

Views, challenging terrain, easy terrain, birdwatching, flora and fauna. Wonderful place for inspiring youngsters, and for running, walking, cycling, horse riding, orienteering, picnics and so much more. Try the Ramblers' Tea Rooms at the Cheerful Chilli for a good cuppa, coffee, and good food.

Fantastic views, very scenic. Can see for miles. A café halfway round with refreshments and snacks, very good service. Would recommend dog walking there. And if you're a DCI Banks fan, it was filmed there. :)

Quick walk through the woods to show my wife who'd never seen where I grew up, just as lovely a spot as it used to be. Wandered to the troll's bridge and took lovely photos in the Autumn sun.

Pulled into the car park to have a look after seeing the large sign from the road. IS THIS WHAT I ONCE KNEW AS DANEFIELD PARK? We used to come here a lot when the children were younger, there are plenty of paths to walk on and woodland to romp about in, great views over the valley from the bottom... More

I am very biased. I live in Otley, in the shadow of the Chevin. It is a great place for us urban walkers of all abilities. A previous review has complained it is really steep. Er, yes. It is a hill! It is a steep climb if you start from the town and go straight up, it is more manageable... More
