Good mixture of clothes shops and shoe shops. A market was on selling hand made gifts perfect for Christmas presents. There are plenty of places to eat down the quirky alleys. We ate at Burger King which is a short walk away. Parking was £4 for up to 5hrs at the brewery car park facing the jury's inn hotel, it's... More

the market is very good with plenty of shops selling a variety of goods but on entering the place spend a little time looking at the architecture it is fantastic look up to see the true splendor of the building

As markets go it was ok, nothing really out of the ordinary, just a place to visit when not much else happening.

Although losing busy to other sites such as the Victorian quarter and trinity, it's still a really good place to go and grab a bargain. They have a variety of shops and cafés. It also feels nice to shop here knowing you're supporting small business owners.

Okay, let me say from the off that I love covered markets and therefore might not be terribly objective here. There is something about the smell of them - a heady brew of cooked meats, shoe repairs, pet food and sawdust, with subtle local variations thrown in for good measure. The stalls in these places are normally as quirky as... More

This is a must visit when in Leeds. From a bye gone age located in a beautiful building in Leeds City Centre. Be sure to look up at the architecture to view all the amazing turrets. Interesting stallholders selling a variety of food, clothes, haberdashery, flowers. Try the local oven cakes a Yorkshire speciality. Adds to the heart of Leeds.... More

I remember as a child most towns and cities had an indoor market not dissimilar to Kirgate Market. we certainly did here in Luton before it was demolished to make way for The Arndale centre known today as THE MALL ! in the late 1960's early 70's I bought my wife to Leeds to show her what our indoor market... With Leeds becoming so modern, not that that's a bad thing, it's still nice to see something so 'traditional' still thriving. The indoor market is huge, and they sell a variety of things like jewellery, household items, craft and stationary supplies, sweets, food from all over the world (including Polish and Chinese mini-supermarkets), clothes, pet supplies, even hairdressers are there...
