Go to look at the building

The actual market was of no particular interest to us, but we went to look at the impressive building, and combine with looking at the shopping centre opposite, very interesting.

This is a great market to visit. There is a great atmosphere, and stalls selling every imaginable item. The fruit and veg stalls sell great produce at knock down prices. There are many bargains to be had along butchers row. A great place to visit.

This is well worth a visit just to look at the building. The market is excellent especially the fish and vegetable market. My wife wished that we had a market like this near to our home. The market extends outside with the normal market clothing areas which are the same as any other clothing market. What makes this place special... More

I love this Victorian market in the heart of Leeds, with it's vibrant atmosphere of busy shoppers & enthusiastic traders. I was here to buy some fresh fish. The range, quality & prices are very good, especially so far away from the sea.

Awesome market interior. Good old fashioned type market. Was transported back to childhood memories. Great to still hear the market traders shouting out their wares ..

Here under one roof you will find a cornucopia of produce, goods and services. The prices are as good as you will find anywhere and the banter is priceless. There are separate fish and meat sections, an oyster bar, hairdressers, car accessories, frozen goods, textiles, batteries, cafes, calendars and greengrocer and fruiterers, the variety is endless. Venture outside to the... More

Hi. "You can't please all of the people all of the time" The Kirkgate Market in Leeds has got the 'marmite touch', you either like it or you don't! True its seen better days but...we are living in a different society these days socially & economically so it hasn't got the lustre it once had. Nevertheless, its still there &... More
