Hi. "You can't please all of the people all of the time" The Kirkgate Market in Leeds has got the 'marmite touch', you either like it or you don't! True its seen better days but...we are living in a different society these days socially & economically so it hasn't got the lustre it once had. Nevertheless, its still there &... More

Ok granted - I can answer my own question as I haven't shopped here in years. I recall been dragged here as a kid and crying my eyes out because it was packed with people... but was short lived once I left with a whole heap of pocket money goodies. Now it's half occupied and the shops that are there... More

After seeing such good reviews travelled to market and found a lot of the stalls closed, typical of the times today. However the meat markets looked superb, never seen so much meat in one place. Pre warn the ncp car park adjacent is very expensive only stayed just over an hour cost me £5.60. The flea market was very poor,... More

This market is well worth a visit if only to admire the exterior architecture and the interior decoration. However there are lots of stalls (sadly quite a few vacant ones too) selling a range of products. And there is plenty of choice and healthy competition with customers patronising their favourite butcher, fish monger or greengrocer in the food aisles. It's... More

For quality fabric with a great selection, visit B&M Fabrics in the new part of the market. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. Well worth a visit when in Leeds.

My friend and I only had one day in Leeds, so we decided to prioritize the Leeds Kirgate Market and the Kirkstall Abbey. We arrived at the market after being wowed by the abbey--we gave ourselves about two hours to browse before having to walk across the street to the bus station to catch a bus to Manchester. Upon arriving... More

There are two parts to this market, which is next door to the Leeds Coach Station - a few stalls outside in the open and the major part under cover. A beautifully designed and painted victorian indoor market - very tall indoor market, it was explained to about the two wide green pipes - one is for the water and... More

We had a day out by coach to Leeds and Kirkgate market on Saturday and I can honestly say we have never seen such a good market, the place is huge and the selection of fruit &veg and fish especially is absolutely fantastic , Leeds in general in our opinion is better than London as a shopping destination with loads... What an amazing variety of items for sale under one roof! I did not cover the entire market but I saw multiple fruit & veg stalls, butchers, seafood, cheese, sweets, cosmetics, household goods, spices and others. I picked up some of the best strawberries I've ever had anywhere at one of the stalls. It's a delight to walk around and... More
