Free and right in the city centre. Well worth a visit for an hour or two. Nice staff. Many of the interactive displays are not working. Liked the section on Leeds housing.

I love museums and this is definitely one to look around if you've never been! The museum itself has various floors and different exhibits on each which some are regularly changed. It's child friendly and informative and there is always something to interest everyone. I've taken my family on numerous occasions to this museum when they have visited Leeds.

As its free this really is the best bargain day out. Its really interactive for the kids and has a massive indoor play area on the 1st floor. It has a great animal jungle themed room downstairs which is always popular with my little tot! Theres also a rely interesting Egyptian piece with a real mummy! Great day out!

Its free and very much under visited late on a Tuesday afternoon. I'm sure it would have had a little more atmosphere if more people had been there. probably great on a Sunday afternoon. Just popped into the museum as I had half an hour to spare on my way to the railway station. The usual thing of stuffed birds... More

Visited with our 2 year old daughter. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole museum. Very interesting exhibits, including Leeds history through the ages. In this section there is an excellent area for toddlers and very young children, with a play house, simple computer games, dressing up, toys etc. An excellent local photography exhibition was on with outstanding photos of Leeds wildlife etc.... As this was the first time I was visiting Leeds, I'm glad I came here. It's a free museum and gives you an introduction to Leeds and the surrounding areas. There is a good mixture of modern exhibitions combined with historical aspects. If you are visiting Leeds, I would recommend it. Lots to do for children too. Mesbah Shafait

Finally made the visit that I'd been meaning to do for ages. It's always the same when you live in a town, its attractions are last on your list. However, I needn't have bothered. without being overly philistine, I'd rate it as boring. Needs a better management to liven the place up.

This museum was a good introduction to the history of Leeds and its surrounding area. There were lots of interactive activities for younger children to enjoy. Free entry. Definitely worth a visit.

Great free workshops for children and superb exhibitions on the ground floor. Well worth a visit on a rainy day. Combine it with a visit to the Art Gallery which is just down the road.

Visited on my own during half term and what a lovely little museum. The history of Leeds was very informative and there was lots and lots of interaction opportunities for the children which is sadly lacking in some museums. There was an exhibition on Leeds Photography which was lovely and the Egyptian/Greek part was also informative and well presented.
