The Passionate Brontes is an inspiring and entertaining stroll through the lives and times of Rev Patrick Bronte's remarkable family. The guide uses their poems, letters and novels to weave their story into the fabric of the village. This is a gentle stroll with a relaxed pace that lasts just over an hour and covers less than half a mile around the top of the village and finishes the story in the Bronte Chapel.

My mother, sister, and I spent 10 days in England, several of them in London, and several in Haworth. My mother asked what the best part of all of it was, out of the Tower of London, Westminster, the museums, the theatres, etc, and my response was simply 'Johnnie.' I have been a huge Bronte fan for almost my entire... More

We booked the walking tour at the tourist information office costing £5.00 each and met the tour guide johnnie by the church. He was immediately very friendly and chatty and continued to be throughout the tour. The tour lasted about an hour and a half and johnnie gave details of the history of the village as well as the lives... More

My daughter and I were booked on this walk with Johnnie on thurs 26 Feb 2015 On arriving in Haworth that morning our knowledge of the family was limited and confined within the boundaries of much of the population. After almost 2 hours with Johnnie we feel as tho we have walked beside the Brontes through many of their trials... More

We decided to spend a day on a Bronte walk as our daughter is a huge fan of the Bronte sisters and this company did not disappoint. Johnnie Briggs was an awesome guide, with an encyclopedic knowledge of the Brontes and the history of the area. We were staying in York and Johnnie arranged to meet us there for the... More

It was a foggy, dull day in November, but we walked from Haworth church to Top Withins (allegedly the inspiration for Bronte's Wuthering Heights) and we were pleased we did. It is such a beautiful place, whatever the season, and Top Withins was really atmospheric in all the fog! We also paid for a tour of Bronte's Haworth which we... More

Booked for the guided walking tour of Bronte's Haworth today at the Tourist Information Office, for my wife and myself. Came back at the appointed time, 11.30am, and waited....and waited, while the Tourist office staff tried to contact the guide on his mobile phone. He was unreachable. He never turned up. He never even had the DECENCY to call the... More

I would like to reply to Tony's review of Bronte Walks on Saturday, January 24th. Firstly, I would like to apologise to Tony and his wife for their experience of Haworth and of Bronte Walks. This should never have happened and I can only apologise. In my defense, I was in fact in Holland, in Harlingen at at Trade Show... More

This activity is well worth the price and John is a knowledgable and passionate storyteller. The "walk" is not long in distance, but it is a fascinating 90 minutes.

Thanks Johnnie for your wonderful tour of Haworth. There was just the three of us, including the very nice lady from Switzerland. You gave us a glimpse of the lives the Bronte's lived in the village and elsewhere and what with the beautiful old buildings, and your enthusiastic interpretation of it made for a wonderful morning and would reccomend all... Johnnie is welcoming and passionate about his tours of this historic town. Contact him about having lunch at the Baptist Chapel if you are bringing a group. He is well-informed and a great delight.
