Well you have to stop here and have a pint or two. Branwell's chair is still there. Part of the Bronte pilgrimage.

We arrived in Haworth on Saturday 7 June for a week long stay at a nearby cottage. The Black Bull was known to me from history so I wanted to visit. It was therefore the first pub we went to on our 1st day. There were only a few customers in at the time but we found the bar maid... More

Stayed at the Black Bull this week for two days. Under new management that are very friendly. The place is very clean with a pleasent atmosphere, good food, regular varied entertainment. The place offers plenty of history. I would recomend this place for a visit.

Visited around 9pm on a friday night. Only a couple of other people at the bar, that is not a problem but what was, was the terrible service. We had to wait 5 mins for the bar maid to show up, when she did there was no friendliness at all nor an apology for the wait. She was not rude... More

Stopped off in the famous pub for a coffee after walk down Main Street. Maybe expecting more due to the connection with the brontes. Coffee very weak and gold. Staff were friendly thou, seems very local pub, not really geared for the traveller, but this was march so not height of season

Went to Haworth on Valentines night on a long awaited trip staying in a B+B nearby. We had planned on visiting a few pubs thinking we would finish off at the top of the hill in the grand old Black Bull with loads of atmosphere and maybe even a roaring fire. What a doss house - absolutely appalling ! A... More

I visited on Saturday evening quite late on. The pub seemed okay/average a bit quiet, but it seemed to be lacking atmosphere (except the frosty one from the lady behind the bar). Myself and a couple of friends visited all the pubs down the main street and this one seemed to be lacking friendliness. The live music stopped towards the... More

stayed here on Friday30th March for one night, nice room and good bed, great to be able to sit looking down the Main Street from the window seat. Very pleasant and helpful staff and great breakfast in the morning. This is where Branwell Bronte visited frequently.
