A visit to Lister Park

This is a Victorian building in a very pleasant park a short bus ride from the city centre. Free entry and a wide range of paintings and sculptures - well worth a visit.

It contains one of the best baroque Victorian buildings in the North of England. Its a purpose built art gallery with a very fine collection of everything form old masters to modern works and something for every one. It is surrounded by a great park which has plenty to do for kids of all sizes.

The building was beautifully Victorian, the entry was free, the inside is now an art gallery and we were lucky enough to view a David Hockney room featuring his early works at art college. It was s magnificent building and had activities for children while parents viewed the many different art rooms. The park (Lister Park) was clean and very... More

We visited this museum for the first time and were most impressed by the scope and breadth of the collection with some "must see" paintings as well as a number of local and modern pieces. Bradfords most famous living artist, David Hockney is suitably represented of course. This museum/gallery should be on the itinerary of anyone interested in the arts... More

Great free art gallery upstairs and superb Julia Donaldson exhibition (pay £4 except on free Friday once a month) for the children which also had interesting letters from the publishers. A walk from the town situated but in a nice park. No café.

Don't be put off by some of the reviews about the location of this gallery. It is set in wonderful parkland and on the day I visited, which was a lovely summer day, it was very tranquil. The venue is magnificent and it must have been wonderful to live in this grand house many decades ago. I went to visit... More

Visited a few months ago and felt safe despite being a single person - wasn't sure why other(s) felt Bradford to be unsafe but had an interesting hour or so looking around the very well organised displays - very informative and thoughtfully laid out exhibits - very educational and the museum is in the middle of Lister Park, which also...
