Like many northern towns, Bradford lost a great deal of its Victorian buildings in the fad for modernisation and a desire to rid itself of the cloth cap. I wore mine anyway on a recent visit to Little Germany, a warehouse district that has escaped the demolition men. It is completely hemmed in by roads, but an easy walk from... More

Little Germany has nothing to offer, refurbished mill buildings hidden away in deepest darkest Bradford. Just lacks any characther at all. The only reason to be there is that you ended up getting lost in the Bradford one way system. Just awful.

You have to do your homework, but if you do you'll see one of the most intact Victorian warehouse districts in Britain. Astonishing architecture for what were wool warehouses. Look out for the carvings above the doors. There used to be a walk leaflet for the area, it should be reprinted otherwise you can end up wandering about wondering what... More

I recently took at trip to an amazing little theatre. There are some fantastic shows here - I saw Oh What A Lovely War. What a great space with a bar that serves real ale. It has two venues and there looks some fab stuff on at its small space STUDIO@ next year. You've got to go and see a... More

If you are into architecture then you will probably enjoy a stroll around here as there are a fee pretty impressive buildings. The kids like the stone chair and clock and it's a good photo opportunity but apart from that - there's nothing else to do or see!

Allow an hour to walk round this fascinating area. Plenty of informative plaques that enhance the visit. There are also some very interesting and quirky sculpture pieces to look out for. You can see why Little Germany has been used by many film productions, from "A is for Acid" to "The Syndicate", as so many of the buildings has been... More

Opposite Bradford Cathederal, If you like history this is an interesting place, originally where the German wool magnets had their headquarters in the 1930's. one such magnate was chosen by Adolph Hitler as the proposed Gauleiter. when the Nazi's conquered Britain in the second world war. The area is often used by film companies to give a feel of post... More

Beautiful imposing buildings made out of York stone. Victorian luxury built to last. The details are fantastic.
