Like Blenheim Palace, Arundel Castle is one of those pricey attractions that makes a visitor glad to have a British Heritage Pass! It is however slightly less expensive than Blenheim, and, in my opinion, a more satisfying overall experience. Even though most of the castle was built in relatively recent times, it does have the look of an imposing medieval... more

For the four of us it would have cost £60. We couldn't justify spending such an amount but the setting is awe inspiring. Shame we couldn't even get into the grounds without paying. Disappointing but a pretty area to visit. more

On a recent visit to Arundel my partner was very keen to see the castle. We decided to go on the Sunday morning and on arrival I was surprised to find that for 4 adults the entrance fee came to £52!!!! This was not for a tour, this was simply to roam the rooms that were open to the public... more

Arundel is a pretty little town and is dominated by the very impressive castle standing above it. I loved wandering around the gardens and exploring the Norman motte and keep. It was quite a chilly spring morning when we visited but the gardens would be a fantastic place to have a picnic on a warmer day. I feel let down... more

Visited Arundel Castle in August 2007. A family ticket cost £36. We spent about 2 hours looking round the grounds and the castle. Be aware that the main castle rooms don't open until 12 noon. They charge extra to see the bedrooms (included in our family ticket) and it is worth seeing these. It is well worth a visit to... more

While staying in London, we took a day trip down to Fishbourne to see the roman ruins and stopped at Arundel on the way back. Easy on and off with the train and a line of cabs at the train station to take you up to the castle. Definitely go up to the keep and take a look around. Wonderful... more

This is a great place to visit with old and new alike. I went during a Civil War Re-enactment with the Raven Tor Re-enactors. They set up a camp and demonstrated sword fighting, drill and canons from the time of the English Civil War. The climb to the top of the Norman Keep (131 steps) was not for those weak... more

Beautiful place, definitely worth a look, but admission fairly pricey. Ignore the "11th Century" blurb, most of it was completely rebuilt in the 19th Century. more
