Definitely worth dropping into this museum. Wonderful First World War exhibition on at present. Child friendly without dumbing down exhibits so much that two adults couldn't enjoy them. We spent a happy couple of hours in the museum, seeing how Coventry had developed through the ages and also exploring the tale of Lady Godiva. Friendly helpful staff. Happily donated to... More

The art side of things has an ever changing subject/theme - the story of Lady Godiva has its own room, with 'peep trough' sights, children's period clothing to try own, the reception foyer has child activities in school holidays...overall and absolute delight to visit for oldies and littlies.

We spent a good 2 or 3 hours in this free museum and art gallery. It is across the road from the cathedral, and is excellent. It is especially good if you are travelling with children, as it is set up in such a way that it actively encourages them to touch and try different things, and is a very... More

A new and very clean place to eat between museum visiting in the city. A good selection of food and drinks. Nice view of the cathedrals.

A very wide range of exhibits from the history of Coventry, through some great modern art, a WW1 display and fabulous photos of India by Jason Scott Tilley. Plenty of hand on exhibits for children and a nice cafe area.

Went to the Herbert to visit the Christmas craft market and got more than we expected. The market had many stalls selling some very different gifts and the absencel of tacky items was welcome. We enjoyed a coffee in the restaurant and were entertained by a male voice choir who sang with skill and enthusiasm. We then viewed a photographic... More

So many lovely displays, covering all sorts of different types of things. We really enjoyed the display about Lady Godiva, and also during our visit we saw a short display about fashion through the ages with some lovely dresses. There was also a display about the wars that coventry has lived through, which was very interesting. Well worth a visit,... More

We took our grandchildren here for the Great War Exhibition day … it was truly outstanding. Our grandchildren (6 & 4) loved it. The museum volunteers had so much going on to interest children of all ages that resulted in it being very busy. We expected to stay for a few hours but I think that we were here for... More

Spent a couple of hours in the Museum as part of a day out in Coventry. It was very busy as the entrance area was being used for the University Open Day. This did not cause too much of a problem. Although there was not a lot on show, what was there was interesting, especially the WW1 area. We did... More
