A delightful addition to appreciating this lovely sculpture is the benches close by that permit one to sit as the clock tower clock strikes the hour, each hour, depicting a précis of the Lady Godiva story with 'herself' seated upon her horse appearing, with the nasty 'peeping Tom' looking down upon her. Children especially like this tiny drama.

A lovely work of art which has been on display in the centre of Coventry fir many, many years. However, it has been moved around several times but never seems highlighted or made a major feature of. The council could do more to promote Lady Godiva as the heroine of the city, but doesn't seem very interested. It's a shame!

Surrounded by wine-o's, stroppy teenagers on their way to Primark and some awful 80' shopping arcade. I have seen pictures of it in it's original green park surrounded by 'modern' 50's architecture, that would have been worth seeing!

Coventry struggles to appeal to me and over the years not much effort seems to have been made to beautify it but this statue is rather nice

Very close to the two cathedrals and the guildhall, do take the time to find this famous statue. Worth the small effort needed.

As I used to live in the Coventry area over 40 years ago I have never been one for taking notice of the lady Godiva statue in the middle of Broadgate. But as I had a little time whilst visiting the city on business I thought I would see if the Earl of Leofrics good lady was sill in good shape... This is a symbol of Coventry that is know all over lots of countries not only England . Lady Godiva is in Coventrys Heritage and lots of people know the story of Leofric and Godiva. The statue is very central in Coventry although she has been moved a few times . It is a very imposing statue and a good... More
