Then to find out she was an ancestor! Someone had decorated the statue when I visited so taking a photo was difficult, however she is in the Guildhall as well

It's a nice statue but it doesn't live up to its location. Would surely go overlooked should it be placed somewhere else in town.

OK its a bit naff but a beautiful statue of a local icon after all there is not much to shout about in central Coventry, its a tribute to 1960 concrete architecture Be in the square on the hour and look out for the clock and the peeping tom its corny naff but its worth a watch just to say... More

A lovely statue in the centre of Coventry, situated under the old town 'Peeping Tom' clock. There is a revolution at the moment to get the 'Sky Blues' (Coventry Football Club back into the City, and unfortunately the revolution has decided to adorn her with their signature 'trademark' of the sky-blue ribbons to show their protest.....in fact, they have virtually... Going into Coventry city centre with my grand-daugther, We were showing her all the places of interest and although she is only 6, she was particularly interested in Lady Godiva. She look up at the statue in Broadgate and shouted in a loud voice "Ooh Nanny, that lady is naked!" Everyone around us, shoppers and visitors alike burst into laughter... More

A statue like it says portraying a view of Lady Godiva in the main city square surrounded by 60-70's shopping precinct!! Supposedly the lady trailed through the city as a demonstration against tax issues. Maybe some truth but mainly legend I bet... but a visit to this city is not complete unless you see this statue.

I went to Coventry to see the cathedral, but there is more to see while you are there. The statue of Lady Godiva is worth stopping at since most of us have heard the story. If Brussels can have The Mannekin Pis, then this statue is nothing for Coventry to be ashamed of. It is tastefully done and worth seeing... More

She has been in the city for years and is an icon for Coventry. Its a well made sculpture and calibrates the myth of Lady Godiva and her riding through the streets of Coventry naked. Well worth a look

It really is just a statue in the heart of the city with some lovely Coventry surroundings... Primark, Wilkinsons and more! And not to forget peeping Tom. I would recommend coming here on the hour so you can see the clock though!

Standing in the middle of a large open public square surrounded by a mix of fairly new and 1960/70's built shopping is the home of this well executed statue of Lady Godiva on her horse.
