What a pleasure to watch a film from the comfort of a sofa. Well worth the extra cost. Included is a text ordering system where you can order food and drinks from the comfort of your seat, novel. Smallish screen by modern standards but this didn't detract from the overall experience and the sound quality was good. Avoid the seating... More

We enjoyed a screening of The 39 Steps (1935).It was part of their Cinematic Time Machine programme which included a talk from a Professor of Film beforehand which was highly enjoyable and very informative. In screen 2 red seats - essential to book beforehand. Lovely atmosphere and sympathetically restored. Excellent coffee although difficult juggling a cup and saucer on my... More

Went to the electric to see The Revenant. With all that snow you'd think I'd feel a chill, but it was way too hot in there to be comfortable. It couldn't have even been down to the number of people in there and body heat as we were one couple of around 9 couples, so it was actually very empty.

A must for film fans as it is the oldest working cinema in the country. 2 screens - we were in Screen 1, which has 2 types of seating, regular red seats which are small, little leg room and hard and premium leather sofas and chairs. Licensed and good selection of drinks and snacks.

You will have to book well in advanced if you want to get the back sofas but there well worth the extra money and a amazing text service so you won't even need to miss any of the movie if you fancy a drink or some food and a good choice of drinks and nibbles as well I went for... More

If you visit Birmingham you really should try and watch a film at the Electric Cinema. Its a lovely cinema experience - comfy seat, sofas, a bar, great sound, great picture.. Its intimate, friendly and seriously, should be part of any day/night out in what is becoming an ever lengthening list of "must do's" in Birmingham. The Electric Cinema is... More

I've visited the Electric Cinema a couple of times now and it doesn't lose it's charm! I love this cinema and would prefer to go here and support a local landmark than one of modern cinemas. The Electric is fab! And the seats are some comfortable which makes a nice change to modern cinemas.

A friend had recommended the Electric Cinema to me saying that I would love it. They were not wrong. I loved everything about it from the old fashioned tickets to the comfy seats.

I booked a sofa to see Star Wars as a Christmas treat. Although you can pay to become a member and book before the general public, it is still possible to get the best seats if you organise yourself well in advance.Everything about this quirky experience makes this the perfect way to watch a special film, and being able to... independent small cinema with sofa seats, cocktails, cakes and deli snacks. Wonderful experience but it you want a sofa or reclining seat you need to book weeks in advance
