Went to one of the busiest screenings I have seen in the Electric Cinema. As ever the staff out the front were very welcoming, working through a large queue as quick as they could. Very comfortable sat down the front with a lovely pot of pic and mix and a drink. If you haven't been this place is a charming... More

This cinema is a completely different experience to that at a chain cinema. The is an art deco feel to the building and the tickets are vintage style coupons which was a lovely touch. There are vintage red cinema seats and also large sofas, the sofas are at an additional cost. We opted for a sofa seat which was very... More

My first time here with my bf, and we loved it!! We had one of only a few sofa seats situated at the back of the cinema and they were extremely comfy. The old styled cinema feel is wonderful, and the old ticket stubbs are a great touch. No Popcorn? Who cares? The selection of food snacks and drinks are... More

Having not been to the Electric cinema for a long time I booked a sofa as a treat for my Husbands 40th birthday. The guy who served us in the box office was very pleasant and efficient which got things off to a good start. However I was surprised to see that once we entered screen 1 there was an... More

This was our umpteenth visit to the Electric, even though we live 35 miles away! It really is the only way to see a film! Now that they've re-opened New Street station fully, the Electric is a couple of dozen paces from one of the main exits; so incredibly handy for the train which is recommended so you can partake... We just don't see films anywhere else now. This privately run cinema offers comfy couches and waiter service for wine and nibbles at you seat. Been coming for years now and this was to see Spectre.

We booked tickets last minute to see Spectre on a Friday night and nabbed the last pair; it was then fully sold out - it's only a small screening so booking is recommended. It's situated extremely close to New Street station so it's very easy to travel to. We arrived twenty minutes early and picked up our tickets from the... More

The experience at The Electric is far different to the usual multiplex. For starters, you can sit on a sofa if you choose and text to have refreshments brought to you during the film. It is far more personal and sophisticated. There never seem to be as many inconsiderate people there. If you go to The Electric it is because... More

I went and seen the new James Bond film, I have previously been before and I loved my experience, it was 5 stars. However today the whole place stank of damp. Screen 1, the smell was almost overpowering. I understand it is an old building however there is no excuse for it being so horrendous. I suggest that management look... More
