I've seen a few films here and it helps that there aren't as many seats as in major cinema chains. The seats and the text waiter service compliment it all. The history of the building and the set up make this place a hidden treasure in Birmingham.

Went to see Joe. Good film, Nicolas Cage was back to his his best. But the cinema can't get enough plaudits for me. Itr is what a film experience should be and compares very favorably with the same old same old chain cinemas around the country, which whilst not that bad are not special. Surprised there are still only two... More

We love the Electric cinema. Very close to New St Station so convenient for train users. It is the old fashioned cinema of your childhood but with a difference. You can book a sofa in most of the Screen rooms and are then eligible for butler service. The snacks are lovely, not the usual multiplex fare. Not a lot of... More

This theatre, one of the oldest in the UK is charming and such a delight to visit. It doesn't get the younger traffic of mobile phone users who think it's fine to chat during the movie. In fact you feel like you've gone back in time. They have sofas, drinks and olives at your seat along side other choices, and... More

Comfortable seats. Excellent service for food and drinks. A little bit different than a normal cinema.

Love the electric and always make a point off going there rather than faceless corporate cinemas, I love the individual touches , the range of films, seats are comfortable and cake is always good

The Electric Cinema is well worth a visit. Going to one of the events as part of their Shock and Gore festival, we shared a sofa (why can't every cinema have these?) and were treated to waitress service! The place itself is wonderfully quirky and the snacks and drinks service avoids the old stale popcorn and offers delights such as... More
