An entirely unique cinema experience. Fantastic little gem. Art deco style bar, Absinthe, movie-themed cocktails, sofas with waitor service, home made cakes, Belgian chocolates, the best in indie cinema. What more could you want from a cinema? The history of the cinema is fascinating too. A must visit.

Lovely atmosphere, fantastic waiter service and comfortable sofas. Aircon needs improving as we were desperately hot!

cosy little cinema tucked away behind New street Station. We watched "Mr Turner" with a quietly appreciative audience one wet afternoon. Comfy armchair seats and drinks available .

Decided to go to this cinema as the time and venue suited for the film I wished to see. I knew it was small and so it was more or less what I expected but I did find it a bit claustrophobic, especially the booking area. The box office staff were very friendly and I found the seat to be... More

The Electric is a great place to see any films but you can get to see things at the Electric that you likely wont see elsewhere in more 'main stream' outlets. I really like the way the building has been preserved and maintained. If you get one sofa seats they will bring drinks and snacks to you whilst watching the... More

Walking up to the old building and you start feeling excited. Go and buy your tickets and the memories come flashing back. A push on the big black buttons forces bus-like tickets from the polished chrome ticket machine. Enter the theatre and it just gets better. If you are lucky enough to book one of the sofas you can relax... More

This is a brilliant little cinema with a great range of films both art-house, historic and blockbusters. Seats are comfortable (especially if you pay extra for the sofas!) and screen views are good. It always feels like a special experience.

Went to the Electric Cinema the Friday just gone as the time of the movie (Gone Girl) suited me and my two friends perfectly. I searched online for no particular cinema. Was easy to find from the Bullring. Went to the afternoon showing at 3pm. Price was just under £8. Went inside the cinema and the seats were really small... More

Cosy and quaint and how cinema used to be before the giant multiscreen sheds. I looked the sofa as a really snug way to watch a film with a drink on a table in front of you.

First trip to the Electric Cinema. It wasn't quite as spectacular as I was expecting, but maybe I was missing something! The screen was packed which made it a lot more enjoyable than going to a screening at Cineworld and being with 5 other people. Well maintained venue, friendly staff. The bar was a bit of a bombsite when I... More
