I absolutely love The Electric. It is the perfect size, a great price for what you get. Yes, it's a little more than average, but compare it to the Odeon on New Street, and well, this is value for money. To have tea in a mug in the cinema watching something brilliant (or rubbish, they can't help the film quality)... More

Wow! we just loved this little cinema. First of all the service - I phoned for tickets and the receptionist really couldn't have been more helpful and good humoured. The cinema is really quaint (only two small theatres) we booked a sofa at the back (Hepburn sofa) which was incredibly comfortable and we felt really at home. We were invited... More

This is a tad more expensive than the large, shiny cinemas we normally go to, but well worth the extra couple of pounds per ticket. The opportunity to buy decent snacks (we had pitta bread and hummus) and drinks (gin and tonic in a glass!) was gratefully used, and we paid a bit more again for a sofa seat at... More

Had the pleasure of going to this cinema on 28th of February as part of a gift bought for Christmas have to say what a lovely night out the cinema has so much charm, warmth and nostalgia. We had the comfort of a two seater settee with complimentary wine, I have read people critising the snacks & prices but I... More

We visit here regularly, we love it. The last thing we watched was the theory of everything, we went all out & booked a sofa with waiter service, it was an ace night.

If you enjoy going to the cinema, then this place is one not to be missed when in the City Centre. With parking within seconds on the town hall car park, and plenty of restaurants and bars around the area it makes a great evening out. Inside the place feels old, but not run down. A very classy affair compared... More

Electric Cinema - I cannot compliment it enough! From the moment we arrived to when we left, we were made to feel 'more than welcomed and entertained'. Not only did we get to see two recently released 'great' movies, which we viewed from the comfort of 'luxureous' leather seats, whilst plonking our feet firmly on matching footstools, we also got... So today a 'normal cinema chain' will cost £8, we paid £10 to watch a film on comfortable sofas with footstools, great service and a lovely atmosphere. No contest really. Was quite a novelty and definitely worth trying once.. However now I've been I'll definitely be returning!

A visit to Electric Cinema isn't just a movie program, is a travel in time. This is the oldest working cinema in the United Kingdon, screeing movies since 1909, and that's what makes the experience so enjoyable. Expect confortable red sofas, carpets, a lot of art dèco and people drinking champagne while watching the screen. The cinema has two rooms,... More

My second trip to the Electric Cinema was even better than the first, managing to secure Valentino the leather sofa for three people. The film is almost a secondary event at this magic place, the young staff are so friendly and good humored, the cinema itself is fascinating. Being able to order a glass of wine by text from your...
