A small venue, an intimate venue. Not chavvie, and no screaming kids. Excellent bar, reasonably priced.

This is well refurbished art centre with a decent theatre stage. I have been here on comedy nights, theatre nights, dance shows and conferences. Booking tickets is pretty simple and collecting is easy. However the bar staff always seem to have issues, they are either too aggresive or sometimes not with it. The cafe staff have a real attitude problem,... More

We went here on Valentines day evening to watch Liz and Dick in the small theatre. The show was excellent and was only performed by two people who went stright through for 75 minutes. How they remember everything to say is certainly a skill. A very enjoyable evening with a difference. The theatre is very intimate and you feel like... More

My wife has to be dairy free because our 3-month old is intolerant, and she breast feeds. She ordered the dairy-free option specifically, but after a few bites found butter in it. We're shocked and really annoyed.

Breakfast was a delight but even for someone with a good appetite it beat me. Two bacon, two sausage, 2 poached eggs, field mushrooms, baked beans, hash browns and freshly cut toasted bread. It might be worth doing a smaller breakfast to give a better choice but I am not complaining as it set me up for the day. The... More

The ground floor is like an airport waiting lounge, the cafe (see other reviews) is awful with bad service and over or under done food and a poor range, the bar (when it can be bothered to open) is dull. The choice of films is limited as they only use 1 room to show films when there is a lot... More

For a cafe in a publicly subsidised building, MAC cafe is very expensive. It's concerning that the long counter, which could be serving, for example, a range of hot foods and salads is occupied largely by crisps and novelty merchandise. , Service is often haphazard and the catering priority seems to be corporate events rather than individual customers. On this... More

I met a friend for a drink and catch up after work. We originally sat in the lobby area, the settee were comfortable however, there were lots of cups, plates etc that were there for a long time before staff cleared them. We vacated to the bar area, the staff in there were so lovely and hard working. We ordered... More

I have visited the MAC may times and the hot food is okay. We decided to have a sandwich as most tables were taken by the single coffee drinker with a laptop so we sat in the lobby. Tables for two would be easy to fit in and cater for this market place. The stale, sad excuse for sandwiches that... More

Although there are other cinemas nearer to our home, we always choose to go to the MAC. The seats are comfy, you can book tickets in advance (and collecting them is an easy process) and there is definitely no food or drink allowed in the auditorium. Staff are always really friendly too. They show a good selection of foreign language... More
