This is a wonderful way to spend a weekend day out in Shakespeares County and incorporate it with a visit to an iconic City Centre shopping mall. Imagine travelling to UK second city from Shakespeares own home town by Steam Train, or visa versa, or even both ways. Stratford on Avon has all the Shakespeare history and is a beautiful... More

Four of us went on the train on 1st September to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary's. Went out on train A returning on train D with a meal on the way back. Service on board was excellent and the meal was of a good standard. Catching trains A & D gives you four hours in Stratford. Would highly recommend.

Had a brilliant time on the Shakespeare Express. It was really easy and simple on the day with no problems. Friendly staff. Being picky, the bacon rolls were very fatty low quality bacon so I didn't eat mine. If you're going to visit Stratford, you can find 241 deals online for a 5 hall pass to Shakespeare's houses.

We are glad you enjoyed the experience on The Shakespeare Express. I am sorry your bacon roll was not up to standard - we use only premium bacon from a local butcher – I will have words. If there is anything we can do in the future, please telephone me in the office. Regards, Ben - VT More

We went on the Shakespeare Express as a birthday gift for my partner. As it was a treat we had a full day outing taking train a from Snow Hill to Stratford and train d returning. The food on board was excellent. We had a 3 course breakfast of porridge, croissants and a full english on the way there and... More

We had a lovely outing on this train - however £125 for 2.5 hours was expensive. The train really is beautiful and the staff excellent. We enjoyed our Sunday lunch - but the set menu may not be to everyones taste. We were lucky with the sunshine but it felt as though we were there and back within minutes. It... More

We heard about the Shakespeare express on tripadvisor and thought as I live in Birmingham I should do it! So myself and my boyfriend got the first train out of snow hill on a Sunday morning in the beautiful sunshine! The service onboard was great and the views were lovely! You could also hear the train as you went! Then... More

From the time you walk onto the platform the sight of the train and smell of diesel takes you a step back back in time. All the staff were polite and told you of anything that maybe of interest along the route the train went. The journey was relaxing, scenic and peaceful. Will be coming on the journey again. Only... What an overwhelming site to walk into Snow Hill Station in Birmingham to see this beautiful steam train waiting to take us on a magical ride, but alas there was no trip to Hogwarts today :-) We chose premier class with dining and was not disappointed. As soon as we sat down breakfast was served. First course was croissants and... More

This is an excellent trip on a Steam Train from Birmingham (Snow Hill) to Stratford upon Avon .Run by a great team of knowledgeable enthusiasts the engine and carriages were in excellent condition , authentic to their age .The engine was built in 1929 and some of the carriages were post war and very evocative of times gone by ......especially... Booked this trip to experience traveling on a real steam train after a family visit to Thomasland theme park, though think we were more excited and impressed than our 3 year old. We booked the Shakespeare Express through the very helpful staff at Vintage Trains (www.vintagetrains.co.uk) and took the morning train to Stratford Upon Avon, spent the day there and... More
