It`s been great to watch the renaissance of Compton Verney over the last 20 years, from virtual write-off wreck to today`s thriving centre. I love the combination of the Baroque architecture of the Georgian mansion with the ultra- cool glass and steel of the new extension, it`s really inspiring. The collections are eclectic in the best sense ie there`s something... More

Had a wonderful day with my children and friends. We took part in the summer children's activities and enjoyed making sculpture with the clay. The staff assisting the children was very friendly and quick to get us set up and enjoying making our models. We then enjoyed a picnic on the benches in the beautiful grounds before going to the... My son (18 months) and I love Compton Verney. My son loves running around the grounds. We both love the playground as it has something for everyone. I enjoy walking around the galleries. You always see something new each time you visit. The exhibitions are well thought out. I ate in the restaurant on Mother's Day, which was lovely and... More

Having read other tripadvisor reviews I can only think that the CV management simply ignore them. We visited on a beautiful sunny afternoon, the car park was almost full of cars, oddly the galleries were almost empty, which for us was lovely. Where were those people? On to the house, we decided to eat before exploring the art. It was... More

This place was rather busy on Sunday afternoon. This was my first visit to the restaurant, so I was pondering what to have for lunch. Lots of people seemed to have the leak and sweet potato soup, but I was after something more substantial than that. So, I’ve ordered the chicken supreme, which was a chicken breast stuffed with spinach... More

I have to agree with one of the other reviews regarding the restaurant. The service is dreadfully slow. Meet and greet is unprofessional and uninviting. It took nearly half an hour just waiting for someone to take our order. The sides orders came too late to enjoy with the meal and they’d run out of wedges, but supplied small roast... More

We enjoyed it - there were still Henry Moores and Auguste Rodins dotting the grounds from the August exhibition. The grounds are glorious and you can take a picnic. Inside there is a gallery - we liked the Italian pictures but the folk art stuff was not to our taste, although it's fair to say I've never seen anything like... More

We visited Compton Verney for the Moore Rodin show having seen it at The Henry Moore Foundation in Perry Green. A very different setting gave the show a very different feel. My sister-in-law loved it. I'm still on the fence. The grounds are beautiful and the location of the sculptures there were great, it was the galleries I wasn't impressed... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to the café at Compton Verney. I apologise that your experience was not everything you had hoped for. As you mentioned in your review there was a wedding taking place during your visit. This, combined with the fact that it was the last weekend of the fantastic Moore Rodin... More

We visited for the Moore/Rodin exhibition, which was very comprehensive and featured both indoor and outdoor sculptures. Staff in the booking centre were frindly and helpful. We enjoyed the walking trail through beautiful grounds towards the house but felt that the coloured giraffes were let down by sheets of A4 taped to them telling us to take selfies with them... More

The property owned by the Moores family is now an art gallery with works by Rodin in the grounds and much Venetian art in the galleries. My favourite gallery, though, was the folk art.
