This is not a hidden gem in the sense that it is hard to find but more that we didn't realise what a superb place this is to visit and all it has to offer. Although we are far from art connoisseurs, we certainly appreciated and enjoyed our visit. We went as part of a group and found a venue... More

We had a perfect day out. From the car park you walk through the beautiful Capability Brown landscape park, having lovely views of the house from across the lake. The house has been lovingly restored and the conversion to gallery space has been done very well. The permanent collections are well worth seeing. They include Naples, Northern European, British portraits,... More

Lovely venue. Fascinating exhibition and Martin parr photographs. Really enjoyable visit but we felt it was rather pricey.

Visited the restaurant on the 21st March as a walk in, lovely friendly staff but waited over thirty minutes for starters. Kitchen clearly over whelmed which led to people waking out and we didn't bother with pudding or coffee. Then our bill was wrong swiftly rectiied but again just added to the disappointment. It is also no excuse to state... More

We are extremely sorry you were disappointed with your visit to the restaurant on 21st March and had to wait thirty minutes for starters. Compton Verney is a beautiful place with lovely artworks. On a summer's day it is certainly worth a visit. I had three friends staying last weekend and was delighted that their visit coincided with the re-opening of CV after the winter. We were most looking forward to visiting on the first day of the season. However, on arrival at 1.35pm... More

Well I have to say my very first visit, with my husband, to Compton Verney was one that certainly ensures we want to return again quite soon. First we had a very pleasant walk around the lake, not a very warm day but it was obvious how super it was going to be in sunny weather. Then it was onto... More

As well as enjoying the fantastic exhibitions and displays, I had a really enjoyable meal whilst at Compton Verney - the new restaurant was wondering, producing fantastic, tasty food with flare and enthusiasm. I've been recommending the steak burger and white chocolate creme brulee to everyone! Thank you!
