After our 1:45 mins coach journey it was lovely to have a leisurely walk along the river, crossed over the bridge and walked back into Stratford, saw lots of swans and a very large Herron. Most enjoyable and a very easy walk, quite flat with only the steps to / from bridge to negotiate, took about an hour at a... More

Took a stroll out of Stratford, picking up the river Avon trail, later joining the Greenway out to Milcote. Stopped there for a cup of tea at the Railway carriage cafe. Nice walk out on the south bank of the river, soon drifting inland a little. The trail rejoins the river, but we picked up the traffic free Greenway. Came... More

A good stretch for the legs, but not for those who have mobility issues. There are steps and gates to negotiate and parts of the terrain are rough walking. For parts of the walk the river is masked by trees and bushes and there is a farm field to traverse. Nevertheless, enjoyed the walk and the getaway from the crowds.

Great walk through parkland, farmland and along river banks. On some stretches look out for irresponsible cyclists You can easily make the walks longer or shorter

There are two walks. The shorter one is a very gentle round-trip from Bancroft Gardens. The longer one will take about an hour and does have some steep steps. Very pretty and quiet. Most walkers have dogs with them.

I rented a bike and rode. I had a great time, took some great pictures, and got some great exercise on my vacation.

Nice flat tranquil stroll around the river, plenty of wildlife, two weirs and a lock. If you go that little bit further towards the racecourse there is a cafe in a converted railway carriage, ideal break before the stroll back to town. Superb.

This is a wonderfully kept up walkway. It really is peaceful and beautiful. Take the time to walk from the visitor center to Holy Trinity and you'll end up in the old graveyard.

After taking in the sites in Stratford Upon Avon, we wound up behind the Shakespeare Theater overlooking the River Avon and the trail. We walked down through the park to Trinity Church and just took our time along the river to complete our day, before taking the train to Bath. The town has so much to offer: history, shopping, sites... More
