The surroundings are rather shabby, even considering some rotting vegetation is needed. However, the butterflies themselves are quite beautiful and there are many opportunities to stand and admire them. The small area where the butterflies are emerging from chrysalis was fascinating. We bought a 40p identification chart at the entrance which was not particularly helpful. More information inside would have... More

This family-friendly place is a good way to introduce children to some wildlife, namely the butterflies. An injured iguana blocked the doorway and only moved when a toddler screamed. Overall, it was a fun experience to see children interact with the butterflies.

Was pleasantly surprised at our recent visit to discover there were more things to see than butterflies. Lovely plantation to follow paths through the grounds, plenty of different species of butterflies to look out for & try & catch, great little pond with coy carp & reptile house (although this part does need an upgrade). Spent longer in there tjan... More

Great place to visit if you are in the area, one of the better Butterfly farms we have been to, we thought it was good value compared to other sites and as the farm is jam packed full with so many butterflies plus a few surprises if you look carefully, great koi carp also Really enjoyed it !

What a wonderful place to visit, its not just for the kids but its for everyone. For 6 quid it was worth it, my 20-month old grandson loves trying to touch the butterflies but really enjoyed looking at the little waterfall and rather large fish.

As other reviewers have said this is looking tired and dated now. It looks like they are not putting any money back into the business (they won't if people keep paying to go). Shabby and un-cared for and also no facts on the types of butterflies, etc. You will be in and out in an hour if you walk very... More

Great place to visit just over the river from the theatre. The butterflies fly freely in this aviary so be prepared for them to land on you. Some gorgeous colours but watch where you step as it is easy to watch the ones that are flying above and around you but look out for the ones that land on the... More

I took my class here and we enjoyed it so while I was on an overnight stay with my partner I persuaded him to take me. Even though I had been a year before I still enjoyed it, my partner enjoyed it too. It's lovely to see the butterflies flying around and even have some land on you. There is... More

As my children were studying life cycles at school and my five year old daughter is butterfly obsessed I was sure a trip to the Butterfly Farm would be both fun and educational. We paid by exchanging tesco clubcard vouchers for entry tickets and I'm so glad we did that rather than paying cold hard cash as at least I... More
