On Saturday 12th July 2014 I decided to cycle along The Greenway, however beautiful, quiet and safe the route is, the park authorities have decided to attempt to fill in some very small dips on the route, but they have used rough large hardcore. As a result this has made cycling on the route very dangerous in some areas. I... More

We took or bikes for a ride along the Greenway and it has some lovely scenery but it was quite uneven in places where the ground had been repaired/filled in with rubble. We also found it quite difficult to negotiate the number of 'kissing gates' along the way with the bikes, but other than this it was a nice route.

We live locally but having just moved to the area this was our first trip to the greenway. Parking at the stratford end was easy and free. We wanted to hire bikes from the stratford bike hire place located in the railway carriage. This was a nightmare - nobody there on arrival (no mention of it on website but you... More

Free parking. Closing time seems to be linked to hours of darkness during the year. Work that out for yourselves. Very pleasant walk through the countryside on ex railway line. Good quality hardcore path for cycling. Various offshoot routes through fields by the river more rustic and unprepared pathway.

The Greenway cycle track is using a disused railway line, so it cuts through the countryside. Cycling is good exercise for everyone of all ages and to use this track is great. No fumes to inhale or busy roads to manouvre. It was great to see families and singletons of all ages using it for walking and cycling. I am... More

Nice easy flat walking. Picnic benches are located at various points. Old railway carriage converted to cafe, average prices. Beautiful countryside to walk or bike ride in well worth a visit no steep gradients to content with. Nice relatively clean paths even after rainfall, not many places to shelter if caught in the rain. Take waterproof clothing.

The path and the views are lovely to walk or cycle in safety. The old train where you can hire bikes and have refreshments is well worth a visit.

great options for safe but scenic walking near Stratford on avon - the easiest is a straight there and back on the old tramway route (and you can stop for drinks and snacks at the Tramway carriages cafe before you start or at the end of your walk) - go as far as you want before turning back or the... The Green Way is part of the Shakespeare Marathon Route and can be enjoyable even during a race event. The Green Way can get muddy after heavy rain.

It's just a lovely area to walk, cycle, it's safe, not too crowded. We walked quite a long way and it was a warm day. It makes a change from the crowded touristy parts of Stratford
