We really enjoyed using this ferry. It was a busy Saturday and the ferry was almost full for every crossing with everybody enjoying the experience. The boatman was helpful and friendly and we certainly felt that at 50p each it was well worth it. In fact we enjoyed it so much that we used it both ways.

50p per person for a short trip across the river may seem expensive, but it was worth it. The passenger chain ferry is a little bit of history and provides the opportunity to be out on the river along with all the other boats. It,of course, also enables a circular walk from the public car park to be completed.

Used chain ferry which is 77 years old to travel from one side of river to the other. Only takes a few minutes but got into conversation very quickly with lady sitting next to me. Stratford is the kind of place where everyone wants to share experiences and views.

We crossed to complete a circular walk, locals I imagine use it as a short cut to the Recreation Ground, but why not do it just to experience a little piece of history. Passage will only take a couple of minutes. Glance up and down river for the views and enjoy watching the friendly ferryman wind away to get you... More

We went for a boat ride along the river Avon and it was really lovely and relaxing. About £16 for a family of 4 for a 45 min ride which we felt was about right. We all enjoyed it, scenery is very pretty and was nice to just sit back and relax. Walks along the river are also enjoyable (did... More

Great fun, brilliant value! A must do on a sunny day! A great shortcut across the Avon. Visit the park opposite.
