After a happy day of touring, we walked to the lovely Bancroft gardens where public seating is plentiful and there are walks along the riverside to the new Theatre. We visited the new roof restaurant for great views and a delicious light snack. The gift shop yielded some really good quality gifts and not too expensive, and I bought an... More

I think this is a wonderful area with something for everyone. Boats, grass for kids in us all to play, Birds, ducks geese with their babies, musicians playing, magician amusing people, nice scenic walks, the list is endless. Close by to shops with pubs and places to eat. if the weather is nice it's worth a visit.

This used to be a draw to visitors to the town, but is now quite unattractive, apart from the trees.

What a wonderful calming effect this had on us as we strolled around and enjoyed the peace amidst a busy world.

lovely place to retreat to when we get the few sunny days we call summer! Lots to do for all ages and all along a beautiful backdrop of both the river and world renowned theatre

Our small group walked across this attractive area several times during our visit on our way to the Shakespeare Houses, restaurants and theatre.
