It was like travelling in the past. The grounds, and buildings are well preserved. It retains over the centuries an authentic atmosphere. Staff are friendly, and we enjoyed the preserved excellence of the home.

This visit was part of a multi attraction pass purchased at the birth place of Shakespeare, which is valid for 12 months, so offers excellent value for money. This was the final place i visited, as it is about 30 minutes walk from the centre of Stratford itself. However, the walk was very pleasant and the scenery was lovely too.... More

Pleasant well informed staff made our visit an enjoyable experience. There is a good information sheet provided as well. The shop has some nice souvenirs. Well worth driving out there.

Lovely house and gardens - even in the winter. Bit of a tight squeeze when the coach parties arrive but go early to miss the rush.

Just passing through so pleased to visit the cottage, hopefully the other places next time. Caught the very interesting talk given by the guide which really made it for us as she referred to lots of sayings and where they originated from. Sunday morning so not busy so very tranquil with time to explore at our leisure. I think with... More

This was by far my favourite of all the Shakespeare houses we visited. The cottage is so cute and the gardens were absolutely stunning. Even in the drizzle the gardens looked beautiful and were a delight to walk round once the rain had cleared up. The gardens were my personal highlight of the visit but the cottage was well worth... We visited as part of a package ticket, which made good value. Out of season the gardens were dormant but so many bulbs were coming up it'll probably be lovely in the spring!! Lots of furniture spanning 400 years of history & knowledgable guides made a very enjoyable short visit!

My daughter and I visited here first of all the Shakespeare homes. It is in a beautiful location and is a very picturesque cottage set in lovely gardens. The staff were informative and helpful. Sadly the gardens weren't in flower but I can imagine they would be lovely. The café across the road is small but well worth a visit,... More

Interesting house and pretty gardens with some guided walks. Lovely spring bulbs. Very helpful knowlegeable guides. Would like to revisit in summer and a great advantange of buying a ticket to the house is it can be re-used as often as you like within 12 months! Bargain! :)

Very interesting cottage with quite a bit of information about Shakespeare. Can get very crowded and they do have controlled entry, we managed to squeeze in between 2 groups. Ticket is valid for a year, save 10% by booking on line (just show the ticket staff your smart phone, no need to print anything out) There is a £1 charge... More
