We were travelling to uncover more about Shakespeare, and I was expecting to be underwhelmed by Anne Hathaway's cottage. However, it was beautiful and the gardens a pleas at surprise. The gift shop was totally amazing and fantastic value. The kids loved the whole experience. The parking was fantastic as well by the way.

After reviewing this cottage online and seeing some lovely pictures, we decided to include this as a 'must see' while in Stratford-Upon-Avon. The weather was unpredictable however this did not stop us enjoying our morning. The cottage itself is well laid out with helpful guides available at the entrance to ask as many questions as you desire! The information provided... More

A delightful thatched, Tudor cottage which was the childhood home of William Shakespeare's wife. There are guides around the cottage to tell you all about the different rooms which is useful. There is a gift shop and tea room which although quite expensive both are nice to visit. We went at Christmas time and there was a choir singing carols... More

You take a guided and fun tour through the house and gardens to understand what life was like for the people of Stratford in the 16th Century. Thank Goodness we are people of the 21st Century! It has little to do with Shakespeare and everything to do with common people.

The country atmosphere in its close location to Stratford. Its beauty and charm, and great for photographs on the day we visited - there was hardly a soul there.

It is an experience to wander through a thatched cottage that is so old and absorb a little of the atmosphere of what it was like for the inhabitants of the cottage and gardens.

We visited the very last day of November so unfortunately the gardens are obviously not at there best but I would imagine that the best time to visit would be Spring/Summer. The cottage its self is actually alot smaller inside than what it looks from the outside. What is amazing is that you are treading in the exact foot steps... More

Wonderful sense of history after visiting Shalespeare birth place etc to match it all together makes the visit complete. We visited this on leaving Stratford for home.

You should not visit Stratford-upon-Avon without visiting Shakespeare's wife's cottage. It has been beautifully maintained. About 20mins walk from the town, the walk to the house itself is lovely. Set in its own gardens, the house is brought to life by the superb guides, who have fascinating tales and titbits to impart (and some myth-busting!). Makes your visit all the... More
