Very enjoyable visit, a good introduction was given before we went round the building. The gardens were interesting with willow huts, orchard and the amazing smell of Lavendar bushes. Well worth a visit

The cottage lived up to my expectations but I had difficulty hearing the 'story teller'. The gardens were delightful.

We enjoyed our visit to Anne Hathaway's cottage, having previously done Shakespeare's birthplace on another trip. The cottage itself is an amazing piece of history to explore and the grounds are immaculate. The only problem is there really isn't much there. It takes no time at all to look through the cottage, with a short talk at the start, and... More

My family and I visited Anne Hathaway's Cottage and Garden this afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed stepping back in time. The house is just like the pictures one would find on an old fashioned chocolate box as for the garden it is simply magical. We booked online the day before our visit and therefore received a 10% discount on entry which... More

Although not much else in Shottery despite it being a typical lovely piece of country, the house and gardens are very much worth visiting. Would have like to live there myself save for the lack of any plumbing! Beautiful unmanicured but well kept cottage garden and worth returning for that alone, just to see what each season will bring. Easy... More

I've visited Anne Hathaway's Cottage along with the other 4 Shakespeare properties in Stratford-upon-Avon several times, and this time there weren't many tourists around, thanks to the damp drizzly autumn weather. Yet the property has a special charm in the low light of autumn, with the garden looking ready for its winter clearance by the gardening team, but still giving... More

I went there on a school trip about 46 years ago and was the only place I can remember. Then it was summer and the garden full of flowers but even in the autumn it is a wonderful - and interesting place to visit

History comes alive. The architecture is preserved and all furnishings are original. As it is an old building, door frames are low and stairs are steep. Mind the head!

The historically interesting house as well as the beautiful garden. The house is a good example how hard the everyday living in those days was.
