This is a beautiful old theatre and is to be enjoyed for its historic value, however, due to it's age visitors should be aware that the seating, because of the very age of the theatre is not as comfortable or spacious as a modern auditorium. We have just attended One man two governors which was a great show but came... More

I've been to see various plays at the Theatre, most recently Cats. The theatre itself is a beautiful building on the outside and the inside, with interesting features in the entrance hall, stairway and the stage. I've sat in various places within the theatre and the view has always been worth what we paid. The seats aren't uncomfortable but you... More

Lovely traditional theatre. Seats are still traditional and not very comfortable but the show made up for it.

The theatre is very lovely and has interesting features. This was our first visit this theatre as we generally go to Sunderland. We had won tickets to see Grease and had a great night. There are plenty of toilets for the interval. The only thing was the theatre was really hot but this is probably due to the hot summer.

Saw this with a couple of girlfriends, great performance we loved it. The theatre has improved greatly since the renovation, it is run very well. Have booked for several more shows, looking forward to going again, easy to book on line etc.

We have been here on many occasions over the years for various theatre productions. The refurbishment of the Theatre is of an excellent standard and well worth a visit to look at that alone never mind the performances.

Went to see "Cats". Lovely old theatre, with unusual -looking seating in the stalls, however very comfortable. No complaints at all,and the production was amazing...especially when the cats come and stare you out!!!!! :)
