We have been to the Theatre Royal many times over the years and have seen many great shows. It is a magnificent building, both inside and out. The inside was refurbished a while ago and they did a great job. Outside the facade is iconic. People comment on ticket prices and booking fees, but these are not unique to just... More

This was my first trip to Newcastle and therefore first to this theatre. The whole experience was brilliant, right from booking the tickets to the show. When I called to book the girl I spoke to was so helpful. She very patiently told me about the theatre's facilities and even explained to me how to get from our hotel on... More

I come here every year with family to watch the christmas pantomime and every year it is amazing! Tickets are pricey but look out for offers near the time, on the other side well worth a visit, never fails to entertain the whole family!

Definitely a highlight of Newcastle's cultural scene, it's a truly impressive building with friendly staff and a good choice at the bar (not the cheapest, but you expect that at the theatre). The toilets are top-notch too! There's a great range of plays on, from Shakespeare to One Man, Two Guvnors, which we went to see recently. Always worth looking... More

I love visiting the theatre, all the staff are knowledgable and approachable who ensure you are enjoying yourself. The theatre is aesthetically pleasing, even if you don't see a show it's worth visiting just to appreciate the architecture. I've seen a couple shows here and I have never been disappointed. There is a restaurant/bar attached to the theatre which is... More

Visited the Theatre Royal for the first time in July to see Cats. I cant wait to return. This is a lovely traditional theatre experience. The show was fantastic so this is an obvious plus for the venue! Situated in the very heart of Newcastle this theatre is easily reached by road or rail, car parking after 5 was free... More

Going to the theatre is over-priced. No doubt this is a bit of a naff comment but these days I'd rather see a live cinema version of a Shakespeare play than watch one at the Theatre Royal. Much better value for money and the before, after and interval interviews are great. Recently it's not been possible to pay for drinks... More

This was the third time we had seen this excellent show and it has not lost any of it's sparkle. Superb cast, great songs and to experience this within the wonderful Theatre Royal just added to the ultimate pleasure evening!
