The RSC put on their Henry IV part 2. It was excellent beyond belief. They know how to put on a show ! Small niggles - seats were not as comfortable as previous - I've never noticed before - perhaps it was just these particular seats. It takes too long to get served at the bar in the interval. But... We were having a pre show meal as it is difficult to book many places at that time. The food sounded better than it was but was still very pleasant. The service was good but a bit slow and we kept worrying that we would not get our meal over without a rush for our seats. Overall in the end... More

A wonderful Theatre in the fantastic Grey Street......the decor is magnificent & it's always a must visit around Christmas time for a Play. The cafe & outside seating area is a welcomed addition too.

This is not a show I would have chosen but I like the Theatre Royal and have never been disappointed. The show was excellent, really super entertainment. The cast was energetic and seemed to be really enjoying themselves. I left with a really good feeling, singing and dancing to the songs as were many of my fellow travellers on the... More

Having seen the West End show I was very impressed with this production on a small stage. The male lead was actually better, no a LOT better than Tom Chambers however that couldn't be said of the female lead who sadly wasn't a patch on Summer Strallen. That aside, shoehorned onto a small stage the cast did well. The orchestra... More

Great Theatre, great show. But BAR PRICES are ridiculous. OK I expect to pay a bit more than your usual Pub prices but £23 for two medium glasses of wine, a gin and tonic and a pint of Stella is over the top.

We went to see Top Hat yesterday and it was fabulous. The set, dancing, singing and costumes were fantastic. The theater is beautiful and the staff very helpful. I wondered when I was going in why people were carrying cushions and now I know why. The seats in the stalls were so hard and all the audience around me were... More

Great Theatre and on the doorstep.... but don't offer enough Opera variations always seems to be the same old 'popular' 'safe' ones put on each year although I will be booking some of the 2015 selection which looks more interesting.
