Amazing selection of tunes! But hit and miss with my friends (and girlfriend) but I liked it, worth a visit! As its close to Newcastle Central and prices are fair.

I came in here with a drink bar maid was rude speaking a different language while we were being served. Also went to the toilet unfortunately and it was grim... The place is a bit of a dive maybe ok on a night out when you are drunk although other than that it is pretty much a dive.

If you're coming here for superb quality drinks and an outstanding decor with pretty boy/girl types you're in the wrong place. Gotham is filthy, dirty, cheap and it absolutely stinks. But it's absolutely outstanding. Music is great, atmosphere is tremendous. What more could you want from a bar before you go to a club/gig/football match? I don't recommend spending over... More

We came for a drink after uni. The cocktails were served in normal cups, with no idea, and the alcohol was RIDICULOUSLY watered down. My sex on the beach was basically just grenadine. Shame, because despite if the smell, the venue is kind of cool

I have been frequenting Gotham Town for about 4 years now. Gotham is the place to go when you want good company and some good music to psyche you up for a night out. No chart music. More the likes of The Stone Roses, Arctic Monkeys, Oasis. The DJ is my favourite thing about the place. Also plays requets if... More

Best bar in the whole of Newcastle FACT. The music is unreal, I practically live in there on a Saturday night. A few in the Dog and Parrot and then on to Gotham. Gotham is rammed every week because everyone knows the tunes are class. Loadsa indie and britpop and all that. Nowhere else in the Toon plays such mint... More

Omg not joking. The smell that hits you when you walk into this place is unreal. You will see why when you head to the bar. The carpet is like quick sand making your feet stick to the carpet. Is it a carpet? No pattern or texture to it. Absolutely filthy. Rest of the place looked ok. Not greatly decorated... More

Having visited Gotham town on Saturday afternoon (18.10.14) I was shocked at the dirt and grime in the place. From the excrement filled toilets, toilet roll strew stairway, sticky, matted disgusting carpet, the ripped and torn furiture and the smell. It is by far the dirtiest most unhygienic bar in Newcastle and how this place hasn't been closed down by... More

Went to Gotham Town on a night out with the missus in Newcastle. We'd been looking online for any type of rock/alternative bar. This place, along with the Dog and Parrot, constantly came up. Walking in, it seemed pretty awesome. Old gothic architecture inside, one of the most interesting interiors I've seen in a long time (if you're in Edinburgh... More

Gotham is a haven. Not a safe haven, but a haven of beautiful indie tunes, cheap dirty drinks, severe narcissism and half hearted bouncers who never cause any trouble. It's brilliant for minesweeping (drink theft) but beware of mines (spiked drinks), of which we have experienced. If you're a maddo who is just after a good time and is not... More
