Having visited Gotham town on Saturday afternoon (18.10.14) I was shocked at the dirt and grime in the place. From the excrement filled toilets, toilet roll strew stairway, sticky, matted disgusting carpet, the ripped and torn furiture and the smell. It is by far the dirtiest most unhygienic bar in Newcastle and how this place hasn't been closed down by... More

Went to Gotham Town on a night out with the missus in Newcastle. We'd been looking online for any type of rock/alternative bar. This place, along with the Dog and Parrot, constantly came up. Walking in, it seemed pretty awesome. Old gothic architecture inside, one of the most interesting interiors I've seen in a long time (if you're in Edinburgh... More

Gotham is a haven. Not a safe haven, but a haven of beautiful indie tunes, cheap dirty drinks, severe narcissism and half hearted bouncers who never cause any trouble. It's brilliant for minesweeping (drink theft) but beware of mines (spiked drinks), of which we have experienced. If you're a maddo who is just after a good time and is not... More

I had been to Gotham a couple of times before and quite liked it, so when me and my friends paid £6 entry to Digital's 'Blacklight' and thought it was utterly rubbish, we moved on there. They played some great music, a fair few songs had everyone singing along and lots of people were really going for it with the... More

Sticky floors, awful service, disgusting toilets and cheap nasty drinks. I understand why students go here, if you aren't a student, avoid like the plague. Ew.

How this place is still open is beyond me! You walk in the the door and are met with an overwhelming smell of ammonia & stale alcohol. The carpet is worn away & your feet stick to the floor. There's no seating, not that you'd want to stay for a drink. This bar is included in the weekend wristband, DON'T... More

Oh my word! I had some friends visiting me that I went to uni with 16 years ago. Gothom was a place we spent a lot of time so I thought it would be nice to have a pint for old times sake. Wowzers if I could give it no circles I would. The floor was disgusting we are taking... More

Probably the most smelliest, disgusting bar I have ever been to - this place should be closed down. The floor is sticky and the toilets where terrible. Bit of a shame as it could be a real quirky place.

I should probably start this review by saying that I'm in my early 20s, and enjoy indie music and student nights out. The reason I mention that is that it's probably only worth a visit if you meet those criteria. The bar as a whole is a bit of a dive, in that it smells a bit weird and generally... More
