Some of the cuts that are scalping our country will be irreversible. This was a beutiful swimming pool with amazing Turkish baths it could have been really utilised like Harrogate have done but no closed for good!

When I was a kid, I learned how to swim here and did all of my swimming qualifications! Im Sad that its shut now but its the governments fault with its cuts! Oh well, we might see it open again in the future!

Visited for the first time three days ago. After the luxury and authenticity of Harrogate Turkish Baths, this was a bit of a shock. After parting with £8.20, I was welcomed to a rather dark subterranean suite with spacious changing rooms which looked quite 1950's authentic in their dark leatherette. The attendants are very nice and genuine, one of them... More

Just experienced the Turkish Baths for the first time and it was wonderful! Yes it is in need of some refurbishment but the atmosphere is superb and the staff are so friendly and helpful. When they told me about the closure plans I was appalled. This is a place with history which should not be lost! I for one would... More

There are so few places like this in the country. The sauna is like stepping back into the Victorian era and is such a relaxing space. Long live the... More

The pool is well past its sell by date and it is no small wonder that Newcastle Council has revealed plans to close the City Pool. Nevertheless I like the place as on a Tuesday morning there is no... If you get one of the active Newcastle cards this is great value and the hot stone massage is very good for £15. Sauna and steam room facilites good and pool is a decent size but can get very crowded at times.
