Three of us spent 97 pounds on Ray jackson tickets and were 4th row of the balcony. At the gig we could only see two thirds of the band. The legroom in the balcony is very poor and much less than the cramped stalls. The seats on the city hall website were cheaper than the 40 pounds stalls tickets but... More

It is a good few years since I have been to the City Hall, I have had many great nights here over the years and in my opinion it is the best place in Newcastle to see a band, the acoustics are usually great and so too the atmosphere, something which cant always be said for the Arena or the... Saw Lee Mack last night at the city hall, what a great night. Had seats at the back of the stalls, good view, no restrictions. The price of the tickets was okay, not too expensive and to be honest worth every penny. A good laugh in a great location, what more do you want...

Leg room! I'm here now 9th Dec. I'm 5 foot 9. I cannot get my legs in at all. Shocking! Gonna sit on the floor the rest of the night! Disgraceful!!!

I went to see Jools Holland at the city hall and had seats in the balcony. Being compact and fairly old meant that the atmosphere was brilliant but the accoustics were disappointing. The music seemed to bounce off the roof distorting the effect. last year in the stalls, the accoustics were much better.

I love going to concerts at this place. It's a pity more bands don't go back to playing these Venus instead of large arenas and stadiums where the acoustics are rubbish. This place was designed and built for exactly 1 purpose and that is to host music concerts. Saw the Human League here last night and they sounded great. The... More

As a surprise for my other half I got tickets to see our favourite Geordie comedian Ross Noble. We have been to see him before at City Hall, which is a beautiful building. The shows are always excellent, it's just a shame the seating is so cramped together. I'm only 5th 1", and found it quite uncomfortable so how the... More

Just saw Lee Mack, great gig in a great venue. Ok it is a bit manic trying to get to the loo and for a drink in the break but what the heck. For some of us locals of a certain age, we don't need this to be all swanky and trendy. This is the place we saw The Jam,... More

Definitely not the most comfortable venue in the world with no leg room and comfort-free seats. Good views though from most parts of the hall. Enjoyed Lee Mack and looking forward to Paloma Faith. Centrally located a few minutes from Haymarket Metro and the top of Northumberland Street.

We have been here several times to see different concerts and comedians. This time it was to see Lee Mack. Great venue, not too big, centrally located, I really do love this place.
