This is a great old venue, the sound cannot be beaten, only criticisms are the bar which is far too small and the lack of air conditioning, it can get so hot in there which wouldn't be a problem if you could take your drinks to your seat.

The Venue for its acoustics was brilliant, The concert was one of the best I've seen in a long time. Newcastle was rocking, Last night however there were in my opinion major mistakes made. We arrived and started to que at 6-15 , The doors were to open at 6-30 for a concert that was due to start at 7pm.it... More

I am appalled at the management of city hall.Took my 86 year old mother to see Susan Boyle. The majority of people attending we're elderly some with walking sticks others with Zimmer frames. While staff milled around in the foyer elderly frail paying customers were left to wait in the wind and rain. Once inside management said we could have... More

First time in many years to visit the City Hall. Watched a fantastic show by the Four Tenors (from Canada) on their first UK tour. Absolutely fantastic. Just such a shame that the venue was half empty. They deserved a full house. The City Hall was a lovely venue and the bar prices are very reasonable. Only £3 for a... More

Went to see Jake Bugg here on 15th Feb, i went to the bar to get a drink and the amount of people crammed together was overwhelming. you couldn't move and alot of the people there were older (maybe 30-40), being 18 and 5'2 it was difficult to get about as people were just standing about so maybe more security...
