Went to see Reeves and Mortimer here last night. The venue itself is beautiful but starting to show its age. Maybe this is due to lack of investment. The venue gas always had a great atmosphere. The bars see crowded and the foyer more so during the interval. The seats are smallish and not the most comfortable but they are... More

Typical old-style theatre. Full house for this show as expected. Pleased to say air con works well as some of these places can get unbearably hot as the show goes on with 2000 bodies in the stalls.

We attended the recent Steven Wilson gig at Newcastle City hall which is a great venue for such a gig. Comfortable seating, friendly attendants and great acoustics. What more could you ask for?

Lovely venue, great views from pretty much anywhere. The sound was amazing!! I saw Steven Wilson here but they have all sorts of different acts.

Concerts are good here because the hall is fairly small and you get a good atmosphere going. The rest is dire. The logos are 19th century and not nice at all. There is little chance of a drink because the bar downstairs is always massively crowded and the wine awful.

Went to see the Lindisfarne Christmas show at this fabulous old venue and wasn't disappointed the atmosphere was brilliant the closeness of the place brings a lovely togetherness. Still a great place to watch live music, and no better place to watch LINDISFARNE. ...FABULOUSLY.

This was my fourth visit to the City Hall, the previous times I have had a seat in the stalls with a good view of the stage. On this occasion however while booking on the website the only seats available were back row balcony seats described as having a 'slightly limited view' (see photo). I would say that not being... Went to a comedy gig an was suitable as was intimate but very out of date for the modern show. Better venues available in and around the city. Seats uncomfy an not totally suitable for taller ones.Bar especially busy and waited ages to be served. Lovely building however.

I hadnt been to the City Hall for years, so was delighted when G4 were reforming and visiting my home town! As usual I booked tickets in the "front row" which was in fact C row. When it came to arriving in our seats and we discovered in horror that the stage was so high that when sat down our... More
