Owner description: At the Tyneside Cinema, we give a trip to the pictures the sense of occasion it deserves. We show the best films in stylish and beautiful surroundings, and our varied programme ranges from brilliant films from all over the world to the best Hollywood has to offer. As the last surviving Newsreel theatre still operating as a cinema full-time in the UK, our Grade II-listed building is an important, must-see piece of heritage, not just regionally, but nationally too and it has been lovingly restored to preserve and celebrate the grandeur of its original 1937 art deco design.

I eat here at least once a month with a friend. Staff are helpful & friendly - seem handpicked for the job. Food - from a poached egg on toast right through to a full three course dinner with lots to choose from in between. Soft drinks, tea & coffee as well as a drop of the stronger stuff. I've... More

I am an avid cinema goer and have lived in the north east for over 10 years. A friend introduced me to the Tyneside just before Christmas and it has become a firm favourite. Excellent staff, gorgeous building and the coffee shop upstairs is great. Highly recommend!

Fantastic films, fantastic staff and fantastic food. You can always see the best of the film world here with excellent service from the staff and both the lovely cafes here are excellent.

Love this place! If you want to get away from the mainstream offerings or you simply need a change of scenery give this place a go as you won't regret it. I remember back in 2008 attending the Tyneside Cinema 5 times just to watch The Dark Knight. The interior is beautifully restored and the seating area is worlds away... More

What a great place to see a film! SO much better than the gate and has some brilliant less known films showing.

Great Art Deco cinema with an adjoining cafe and coffee bar.. comfy seats and small screening cinema rooms with an range of eclectic films. Bought tickets for the incorrect screening and the staff on the front desk were very accommodating in changing the day and time.. You can take a glass of wine into the cinema, so all good! Interesting... More

High tech meets old fashioned cinema. Great service lovely surroundings. No nachos and hot dogs here. Same great movies without the masses.
