The Museum is home to George Stephenson's 'Billy', a forerunner of the world- famous Rocket, and many other engines from the great age of steam. A programme of free events runs throughout the year, and train rides on working steam and diesel locomotives are available at certain times (check the website for details). « less

Ths is a nice little museum which runs steam or vintage desiel rides down its own length of track in the summer and during kids' holidays. The museum is free but you have to pay for the rides. Well worth a visit is you have an hour or two to kill. More
