This is a lovely time of the year to take an Autumn walk through Jesmond Dene Park. The colours in the leaves are fantastic especially if you take the higher paths up to Freemans Park where you can take a seat and look above the treeline and the length of the river. Conkers are also out ready for picking ideal... More

A haven of calm on the outskirts of Newcastle Jesmond Dene has it all. Go for a walk, visit les corner, play by the water, have a coffee, play in the park, take a picnic, visit the Sunday artists market on the bridge or treat yourself at Jesmond Dene House. The choices are endless..

After 65 years I revisited Jesmond Dene . Afternoon tea was wonderful and then my walk down memory lane was not. I took a picture of my dear old friends on the bridge and disillusioned by the grafitti on the Old Mill. Couldn't someone take a can of paint and cover same !!!

I always try to visit Jesmond Dene when I'm in the North East. It's a wonderful place to walk - especially in the autumn. And it's always very peaceful. BUT, when we went one sunny afternoon this week it was anything but peaceful! A university was using the Dene for would-be officers' army training. There were scores of young people... More

Pets corner is always a draw in Jesmond Dene, but there is plenty of walking paths and also a childrens play area which is gates so there are no worries about escapees! Good gift shop with regional gifts. Farmyard animals in pets corner, but also budgies, parrots, and small mammals. No entry fee but donations accepted in a small box... More

Jasmond Dene park is amazing place to visit, I spent last Sunday with my family there, the park is full of natural life and a beautiful waterfall, many people came accompanied with their pets for a walk, there is a cafe in the park and toilets but they open until 4.30 pm only.

After lunch in Jesmond we decided to walk through Jesmond Dene to go through to High Heaton. It is years since we walked through "the Dene" and we were not disappointed. The woodland is well maintained as are the paths and steps. I will not leave it so long before returning.

Lovely place to wander around, go for a run or read a book in the [rare Newcastle] sun. A great little retreat from the city.

wonderful gem of a place with great mini zoo for all the family. Lovely cafe with home cooked food. Also really good conference training rooms, which I once went to.
