Lovely gardens. River walk (slightly smelly in summer). Tranquil most of the time. Nice for a walk, a lounge on the grass in summer, or even to see the animals in the mini zoo. Considering it's completely free, it's a GREAT place to go!

Green lung of Newcastle with lots of little walks throughout, since a Lottery Scheme investment, Pets Corner has a new lease of life and the management of the Park has improved significantly. Lovely for a stroll all time of the year. Lots of activities going on including an Open Air Theatre in July..

Just a brilliant place to get lost in away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Walking, cycling, picnic-ing, sunbathing... Beautiful.

i know and love every inch of all all of the three parks, Heaton Park, Armstrong Park and Jesmond Dene. Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall! There is such beauty, my dogs and I walk there at least twice a day and after nearly 30 years still observe new things. Park at the old Heaton Library and wander through the three... More

This green strip is a great place for locals and visitors to spend anything from a short visit to a a full day (including a picnic I would suggest). On a sunny warm day there are sun traps, an ice cream van and a great cafe. These are at the busier Armstrong bridge end. If you want a quieter stroll... More
