A most pleasant walk well sheltered from the wind

Although quite bust, school holidays,it never seemed crowded and it was quiet and pleasant walking through the trees alongside the river.

Spent a couple of hours as a family walking through park from Armtrong bridge through the petting zoo and along to the old mill and waterfall. Shame the fisherman's lodge is boarded up and mill has fallen foul of graffiti artists but the walk along to the waterfall is well worth it and beyond that is stepping stones, we walked... More

I have visited the Dene on many an occasion over my 15 years in the North and have always been struck by how well kept it has been. Visiting with PT :-) I'd hoped to show him one of the hidden beauties of Jesmond... This visit showed that even the most beautiful of natural formations can suffer neglect if not... More

We went on a bank holiday Monday for the day and was very disappointed, I have been in the past and had a great time but this time the petting zoo was closed. The only thing for my one year old son was the park and a ride on the train, he enjoyed the train but at £1.50 each per... More

It was busy on Bank Holiday monday but nice to see people enjoying the sunshine. Parking was crap but that was to be expected I suppose. Grandson loved THomas the Tank Engine ride

Great place to visit. Why have I never been here before? After parking for free under the Armstrong bridge we walked along to the visitor centre. We had a lovely lunch in the cafe and then spent a fun time visiting the animals in pets corner: goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, birds and more. Children loved it. Then we played in... More

This attraction is on my doorstep so I visit it regularly, well it would be rude not to. The benefits of exposure to greenary can't be underestimated. Feeling a bit ill and lethargic, get yourself down. As Janet Jackson once said The best things in life are free.

It wasn't easy to find but we did enjoy a stroll through and enjoyed the historical plaques. The hotel where we stayed could not give us good directions to get here!

Lovely park to walk through but my favourite place is the petting zoo. Love looking at the animals but a bit disappointed I couldn't actually pet any of the smaller animals like the rabbits. Well worth a visit

The Jesmond Dene is a great place for a stroll. Jesmond is 'Jesus Mound.' There is a ruin of a Church on the south-west end of the park which was, for several hundred years, a site of major religious pilgrimages. When the flowers are blooming it is a beautiful area in a gem of a city.
