Brilliant place to have a stroll through the lungs of the city and enjoy a coffee and cake at the end.

Me and several friends had a picnic here during our stay in Newcastle Upon Tyne for a month. It was so peaceful and lovely we could of almost been somewhere in the country on the outskirts

Not as good as Sefie park in Liverpool, but it is different. Yet another example of the influence of Armstrong on the city. He may have made his money from war, but he did renumerate his employees and the local citizens. A friend of mine has a cottage over looking the Dene, it must be paradise

We spent a sunny nostalgic return from our days as students at Newcastle University. The Dene seems even more beautiful than we remembered adn on a sunny day it is perfect. Go as far as the Old Mill to really appreciate the subtle meld of man and nature and the beauty of the two juxtaposed.

Bequeathed to the city by Lord Armstrong in the 1800's this leafy, green oasis is a great place to have a walk, explore the many winding pathways or enjoy some of the food and... More
