Jesmond Dene is perfect for relaxing walks and exploring history in the midst of a busy city. The land, given to the public by Lord Armstrong is littered with little pockets of history including ruined buildings such as Jesmond Mill, the cattle run and the banqueting hall that give insight as to what this part of Newcastle was like centuries... Jesmond Dene is a wonderful relaxing place hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Jesmond and Newcastle. In good weather its so peaceful just walking along all the paths and exploring the old derelict mill building and stone humpback bridges with the dene running underneath. For the kids ( and the big kids in us ) there is Pets... More

Jesmond Dene is great for everyone. On sunny days it's perfect for groups of any ages to go down for a picnic/BBQ/sunbathe. It's great for children as there's a Thomas the tank engine train and the animal park which is just a small area with various farm animals and birds (goats, rabbits, ponies, pigs and various birds). It's a great walk and suitable... More

Had a great time on a sunny day. Enjoyed walking around and seeing the animals. Plenty to do in park including short pleasant walks. Even has a coffee bar where you can purchase food and drinks

The park is lovely and near to Jesmond Dene where you can walk for quite a while or you can stop at the Animal centre and watch the goats, chickens, birds and rabbits playing. There is a café close by and on a fine day a few hours can be spent there. Relaxing

Lovely walks along the river, some open spaces, a little café and a petting zoo make this a nice day out for all ages. Definitely a good-weather attraction, though.

I am Cub scout leader and I took my Cubs here on a night walk before the end of term, we had a great night all the kids loved it, plenty of area for children to run round and play, couple of play areas and a pets corner. also very interesting from a local history point of view.

We met some friends at the park. The Ice cream from the van was delicious and not too expensive. Parking is free in most places around the park too. There was a little train you could go on at £1.50 a person. The pets corner in the park was very nice and our daughter (2 and a half) enjoyed the... More
