Went to the lates at life last night. I found the robots exhibition very underwhelming. There wasn't much exciting at all, just static models and hard to read descriptions. Building work was going on for the new restaurant, which was a bit distracting. I've been to a previous lates event and really enjoyed it as they had a huge dinosaur... More

Physics, Astronomy, hands on science, lectures all pitched so a child can both understand and be enthused. After you have been you will be planning your next visit. The planetarium is excellent with a very informative depiction of the night sky. If you do not look up at night you will after this.

Visited with our 11 year old son, didn't take long to look around most of it, some parts appeared to be closed off and all the hands on exhibitions weren't that good without any full explanations to what they were for and why. On a previous post on here a reply from the centre states that the entrance fee has... More

We visited this place to see the Body Worlds Exhibition and it was awesome!!!! All exhibits were well displayed, and plenty of time was allowed to view all areas of the centre. We have been here before and will certainly visit again.

Hi 7murphy7 Thanks so much for posting your review! It's great to hear that you enjoyed the BODY WORLDS exhibition so much. You'll be pleased to hear that we have another BODY WORLDS exhibition opening in May 2016 - this times it's ANIMAL INSIDE OUT which focuses on animal anatomy. We can't wait to see the new specimens! I hope... More

Whilst staying in newcastle we decided to visit the life centre as it looked very appealing from outside. The leaflets in our hotel about the centre made it very appealing and it seemed like it was full of interesting information about space. It did not appear from the leaflets or the exterior of the building that the centre was for... More

Hi Justine Thanks for taking the time to post your review. I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed our outdoor ice rink, although I'm sorry that the Science Centre wasn't what you expected. We're home to the North's biggest and best planetarium - did you manage to see a planetarium show while you were here? Our current show, Hubble at 25,... More

We made a special trip to this venue. Queue's were horrendous. We really thought that they shouldn't let that many people in! Queue's were so long, older kids were on all the activities as you walk in so, we couldn't really experience that. We paid for two adults and our 3 year old went free. This would have been okay,... Hi PPTA17 Thanks for leaving a review of your visit. I'm sorry to hear that you found us to be a bit busy. It sounds like you visited on the opening weekend of our new exhibition, Robot, which was particularly well-attended. Weekends and school holidays are generally busier than weekdays, particularly when we have new exhibitions opening as large numbers... More

Had a great afternoon at Life Science. We really enjoyed the 4D motion show, Hubble show at the Planetarium and the Bright Sparks show. The staff throughout were very helpful and enthusiastic. We particularly enjoyed taking part in the science experiments on the ground floor, collecting, staining and viewing cheek cells under a microscope and testing vitamin C levels in... More

The exhibitions are ok - I would agree with others that said it was 'over marketed' the games exhibition was fine for an hour's entertainment
