Right in the city centre this monument is situated next to Fenwicks Department Store and an entrance to Eldon Square shopping centre. Imposing to look at - but check out when it is open to climb the stairs to the top. This summer there is a large screen next to it that shows movies and sporting events. If only the... More

The Momunent is set a a lovey square. This Summer they have a large TV screen there for the public so they can view the various sporting events of the Summer. They have even set up deckchairs! Wimbleton was on when we were there but as the weather was not too favourable we passed on that.

grey's monument used to be a really nice focal point in town but now all it seems is to have lots of protesters hanging around it and people laid over it after coming out from the nearby pubs. it also looks quite dirty.

A great way to navigate through the different area of the city centre shopping area. You will come across this lovely piece of architecture and you can take various routes to different shopping malls, high streets or the more classic stores such as Vivienne Westwood just around the corner!

An old-fashioned bit of architecture in a busy shopping area that adds a nice bit of contrast.

It's the best way to navigate newcastle (any directions you get will probably be from here or the metro station under it), and if it's sunny you'll see people of all stripes competing for a space to sit and soak in the rays. Great place to people watch and eat lunch.
