The gate has a wide choice of restaurants including; Frankie and Benny's, Ninos and Ask (both Italian), Coast to Coast, TGI Fridays, Nandos and Za Za Bizzar (all you can eat buffet). OK during the day for a movie but avoid at night. The whole area around The Gate is dreadful at weekend nights and good luck to anyone who plans a restful stay at the Premier Inn they are building right next to it in the old Coop building.

Lots of choice for food, but beware what time you go Saturday afternoons can be very very busy with children. Nino's and Nando's were a favourite

The Gate is a fantastic indoor entertainment centre and it really comes into its own when it’s raining outside (which, let’s face it, is quite often in Newcastle). When we visit Newcastle with the lads we always visit the gate. Always a good atmosphere and several good bars to choose from. Situated in the city centre (5 minutes walk from train station) is easy to find. Well worth a visit if your having a few drinks.
