We went to Polesdon Lacy on a Saturday in December. This was really fascinating - an Edwardian Christmas with the guides all dressed in traditional costumes. They were all happy and chatty, and loved the place. There were many floral displays which came out well in photos. There should have been free mulled wine - it was all gone. There... More

I love Polesden Lacey. The story of Margaret Greville is fascinating and the house and grounds are beautiful. It's not too big, so easy to do in a couple of hours. Look out for the dog cemetery and Mrs Greville's own grave, both in the gardens. When I went, the upstairs wasn't available to view, but the ground floor is... More

I've been to Polsden Lacy so many times and I admit it is pretty, lovely gardens and a stunning house however I do think it's over priced, especially as you can easily take a short walk on a public footpath and get in for free on the many back entrances. And you have to pay extra to go into the... More

We spent a few hours here last weekend and were delighted by the theme of the house . . . . An Edwardian Christmas! The whole frontage dressed up like an Advent Calendar, all the staff dressed in period costume, the stunning rooms decked out with trees, rides around the grounds . . . and of course, mulled wine. As... More

Great fun imaginative Halloween trail for our grandaughter. Always a nice walk below the formal gardens especialy if on return the terrace is open. Gardens are kept nice. House is super with lots of fascinating memorabilia. Beware car park charge if you are not a member of NT.

This trust property has access to the lower floor and gardens only. It is quite a long push from the wheelchair accessible parking spaces to the house. The gardens are mostly accessible there are pictures available to see the upper floors. well worth a visit.

Hi twocalis, Thanks for taking the time to share your review and we're glad you enjoyed your visit. I appreciate that it can be frustrating to those using wheelchairs not to be able to access the upper floor of the house due to conservation reasons. This is why we've set up an iPad in the blue cloak room so that... More
