Visited on a dry summers day, with friends. The house is very impressive , and public rooms very well maintained and refurbished. There are extensive grounds with fab views to the south ,, and to the north towards West London. The only real -vie for me was the coffee shop or tea room. We are regular visitors and really enjoy this beautiful place. The grounds are lovely and you can walk for miles. Or perhaps stop of at the cafe for tea and cake. Gets busy on sunny days but you don't tend to notice Asia such a well spread out place to visit. Look out for activity days such as the Easter... More

We visited this place for a second time as, when we visited the first time, we couldn't see upstairs. It was enlightening to see where the Queen Mum spent her honeymoon and how the family lived. The NT volunteers are so passionate about their work, it is a joy to hear them impart their knowledge on to all those who... More

We live just up the road in the village of Box Hill and so often come down here at the weekends to visit the coffee shop and sit on the lawn listening to the Jazz. The choice of food is reasonable and they usually have something at least for gluten free veggies, even if it's just the soup. A little... More

Thoroughly enjoyed touring this treasure of a National Trust house. We found the volunteers on duty in each room were so helpful and informative. Spent nearly 3 hours in the house then went for an excellent cream tea in the Granary Restaurant.

We had a lovely morning walking our daughter's dog here, even though our walk took us longer than anticipated because we got lost! The grounds are extensive with 'natural' areas and a formal garden, the latter of which is not open to dogs. There are signs to guide you around, but I must say these are not always clear or... Very interesting house built in the early 1900's with no expense spared to fit it out. Electric light, central heating, bedrooms with en suite bathroom all fitted at the time of building. Very extensive grounds with beautiful views and plenty of paths to walk yourselves and the dog!

Very enjoyable walk around Polesden Lacey-allow a couple of hours in grounds. Ran out of time and did not do house. Had an ice-cream from cafe.

We were looking for a special place to go for afternoon tea with a group of friends. I visited with my husband last week and the exceptional quality and value of the high tea was the decider for booking. We spoke to the restaurant manager, the booking was painless. We arrived today and the table was laid beautifully. Every member... More

Visit on Monday 10th August and despite the overcast skies the brightness of the property still shone through. You arrive at the main car park via a long private drive which shows off some of the great countryside views of the property. The house is a gentle 5 minute walk from the visitor centre through tree lined avenues. Once inside... More
