We arrived at Polesden Lacey about 2.30pm. However they were only doing tours and all the tours for the day were booked. It was heaving with people on a Saturday afternoon

Thoroughly recommend....went for the 'glimpse tour' of the house... Gives a synopsis of some of the house and background before opening for the season in March. Really interesting and the grounds are great for walking! Will definitely be returning spring/summer...picnic areas too!...Altho the eateries are really nice with good amenities.

I always take visitors from abroad to Polesden Lacey as it really is a wonderful example of a classic English house. Fascinating history, wonderful gardens and great afternoon tea. Good place for children as they do special themed events at various times of the year. You will be easily parted from your money in the gift and food shops.

The house is filled with mazing collections. It feels 'lived in' and is sumptuous. There are a range of events during the year. Outside there are lots of 'dog friendly' walks. Try to go and see the Tanners Youth Hostel.

Very interesting house to visit. See how the other half lived years ago. Nice surroundings, good for walking in gardens. Nice cafe attached with little gift shop.

We love Polesden Lacey and visit regularly. There's plenty to see whether you visit the house - there are often themed days when staff are in costume - or just the grounds. You can do a gentle circuit through the rose garden and along to the wooded play area, or walk much further around the estate. The views from the... More
