This was the first visit since January when the whole area was under water. It is really pleasing to see how fast nature recovers after minor catastrophes. The whole area is steeped in history and a visit should be mandatory for all children to understand the importance of Magna Carta.

Runnymede consists of the magna carta memorial, JF Kennedy memorial and the commonwealth air crew memorial. There are various woodland walks and also river boats and riverside activities. There is a very good national trust tea room with friendly service and good food and NT run car park (free to members). We walked across the field to the JF Kennedy... More

The location of the memorial is amazing as are the views of Windsor and London. The design and upkeep of the building and grounds is wonderful and a fitting memorial.

Interesting to go and see the Runnymede memorial, although there isn't actually that much to see. Not much more to say!

Runnymede is where Magna Carta was signed. Nearby is the JFK Memorial-on the only land in England that was given to the Americans! Above (on the hill, overlooking Runnymede) is the RAF Memorial. An awesome memorial, spend time there and reflect on their sacrifice-look for Amy Johnson's name. This is a diverse, historical and interesting piece of a beautifiul country-stop there... More

The four of us spent an afternoon here on a very wet December day. We parked down by the cafe and trudged towards the JFK Memorial which is most contemplative. The Air Force Memorial is a lovely and beautifully-maintained memorial to thousands of fallen airmen who have no known grave. It is quite near my home (about 7 miles) and affords a place to go and reflect, as well as to observe the surroundings from the top of the tower.
