Not our first visit to the National Stud but an excellent day as it always is. Weather was nice for the time of year which always helps. The guide was very informative and knew all about the horses. It was nice to see Amberleigh House again. It isn't everyday that you get to stroke a Grand National winner! An excellent... More

Very informative and relaxed. The lady certainly knew her stuff. There weren't many mares/foals around at the time of our visit but we did see some. Café was lovely.

Despite the cold weather, this was really interesting. Our guide, Malcom from Discover Newmarket was superb, explaining what was happening throughout the Stud. It was lovely meeting the horses and even the first foals to be born.

Great value for a tour around the stud. Lovely to see the foals. Also get to see famous name horses retired to stud. Very special memories. Worth booking ahead to avoid disappointment

We booked the National Stud tour online at short notice. Being October there is only one tour daily, departing in the morning (in the summer there are two tours daily, morning and early afternoon, each accommodating up to about 30 people) When we arrived at the reception centre - also the café - we found that there was only one... We did a tour of the stud following a morning at the Horseracing Museum and a Jockey Club Estate tour (a must do also) The tour of the stud was most informative and at a gently pace so that all could enjoy the amazing surroundings and horses. Our tour guide was full of information and most happy to answer any... More

We were staying in Cambridge and booked to take the morning tour on our second day. I love horses, neither of us are fans of horse racing, but the tour was very informative, we saw some foals that had been weaned, 3 stallions and loads of mares. My husband can take or leave horses, but he wants to return next... More

My Fiance and me visited here on 11th August and truly enjoyed every minute of our two hour visit. We couldn't believe the expanse of the stud, its wonderful land and those beautiful horses and foals. Highlight of the visit for us was feeding the lovely Amberleigh House, what a gentle giant he is. We gained so much knowledge about... More

Whilst visiting the Newmarket area with friends, I was told that one of them had arranged a visit to, and a tour of, The National Stud in Newmarket. Not being a "horsey or racing" person in any form, I went with a willing heart for the sake of harmony in the group - am I glad I did !. Nice... More

My horsey friend and I visited the Stud, as neither of us had ever been. It is a guided tour that starts in the pleasant cafe, where we meet our guide before boarding a mini bus that takes around the large site. All the way through we are given information about the breeding and management of these beautiful horses. Even... More
