See the foals

A chance to see how the racing industry produces and rears its racehorses. Good breakfast available in the morning. Better to go between March and June.

We have visited the National Stud on a number of occasion's at different seasons of the year. Each visit has bowled us over. The knowledge of our tour guides and the vast size of the grounds. Seeing mares, foals, colts up close and able to touch and stroke them. Each time we go we learn more, especially last time in... More

We were taken around the stud in a mini bus with an excellent guide who went to great lengths to tell us about the breeding of top race horses. What all of the stables were used for and how the whole placeoperated.Fascinating.Most enjoyable on a lovely Autumn day.Everthing immaculate and interesting.

Although we visited in the autumn, when the breeding season is quietest this was still a wonderful trip really enhanced by Frankie our guide who was charming and knowledgeable. The whole history of the equine world was explained and the scenery is beautiful. We were close to a beautiful stallion and although the famously Amberleigh Housebremainevtotally disinterested in us or the... More

This is a very seasonal attraction, although horses are always onsite, it would be a much better visitor attraction when the mares are foaling and stallions onsite. Although a few mares & foals were available to see, and the stable yards etc, the tour was very informative. Easy to get around on the little bus and a good chance to... More

The National Stud is beautiful, no other words fit. The British Racing School is amazing! We were treated to a tour and got to walk around and see the fields, barns, horses and students. Go there if you can, and a must for anyone who loves horses.

This is a value for money tour, and quite educational if youre interested in the equine background. This is the only stud I know which is open for regular visits to the public. Maybe not for young kids if horses are not there thing. Also the tour assumes you have a more than passing knowledge of equine industry as I... More

Great place to visit. Join one of the many tours on offer, you wont regret it. The tours are great value, they offer a unique insight into the work involved in getting some of our potentially greatest athletes into the world. From being a child I had always wanted to visit The National Stud. I had. had pictures of Never Say Die, Mill Reef and Tudor Melody on my bedroom wall as I grew up, so I was very excited when a relative who lived near the stud told me she had booked a tour. The problem was of course was... More

We had a private tour organised throughThe Jockey Club Rooms to see the Stud which was glorious! The grounds are superbly presented, and we had the pleasure of seeing the home of a stallion coming to Australia.
